Bithermal Heat Exchanger Brazed Plates Baxi Roca Laura Plus 28 28 F Ref. 122230060
The Roca Laura Plus 28 28 F welded plate bimetallic heat exchanger simultaneously heats the heating circuit and domestic hot water in a single component. When it malfunctions, the user may notice lukewarm water, temperature fluctuations, or circuit mixing, indicating that the part is not functioning properly. This heat exchanger is compatible with the Laura range, including the Plus 28 and Plus 28 F models, among others. It should be replaced when these symptoms of faulty operation are detected.

How to check if the ref. 122230060 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 122230060. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the bivalent heat exchanger 122230060 solves.
The bivalent heat exchanger transfers heat to heating and domestic hot water. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The heating circuit needs to be filled every few weeks without any visible leaks outside the boiler.
Cause: A crack between the two circuits allows water from the mains to enter the heating circuit without leaking to the outside.
Check if the water consumption on the main meter increases even when no one is using hot water; an unexplained increase indicates an internal leak.
- 02
The domestic hot water comes out with less force than before, as if the tap were slightly closed.
Cause: The welded plates have a narrow passage that becomes obstructed by scale on the domestic hot water side.
Clean the cold water inlet filter and check if the flow improves; if it doesn't improve, the restriction is within the heat exchanger.
- 03
The boiler gives a warning of overheating or shuts down by itself after running for a while providing hot water.
Cause: If the passage is blocked by limescale, the water heats up too much inside the bivalent heat exchanger before exiting and activates the protection.
Check the historical notices in the panel to see if the fault always occurs after several minutes of the tap being open; that pattern indicates scaling.
- 04
Cloudy water or water with white residues comes out when opening the hot water tap after a while of not using it.
Cause: The limescale residues detached from the inside of the bivalent heat exchanger are carried away with the hot water.
Let the hot water run for a minute and check if the cloudy appearance disappears; if it persists, it is advisable to check the heat exchanger.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
