Expansion Vessel Beretta Ciao 24 Ref. 20187349
When you turn on the tap or the heating, the expansion vessel Beretta Ciao 24 is responsible for absorbing the increase in water volume as it heats up. If this part fails, you will notice that the pressure of your boiler fluctuates sharply, and the safety valve may leak. This expansion vessel is compatible with models such as the Ciao 24 CAI, Ciao 24 CSI, among others in the Beretta range. It is recommended to replace it when you observe these symptoms, to maintain proper operation of your heating system.

How to check if ref. 20187349 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 20187349. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the expansion vessel 20187349 resolves.
The expansion vessel absorbs the expansion of water when heated. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The cold pressure is fine, but when heating, it quickly rises above 2.5-3 bar.
Cause: If the expansion vessel loses its air pre-charge or the membrane is broken, it cannot absorb the expansion of the water and all the pressure falls on the circuit.
With the boiler cold and the circuit depressurized, check the air pressure in the Schrader valve of the expansion vessel: it should be between 1-1.5 bar before replacing it.
- 02
The water circuit needs to be refilled more frequently than usual.
Cause: If the diaphragm of the expansion vessel is broken, water passes to the air side and escapes through the safety valve, gradually emptying the circuit.
Press the Schrader valve of the tank: if water comes out along with air, the membrane is broken.
- 03
The safety valve drips just when the boiler has been on for a while and is hot.
Cause: A vessel without sufficient air pressure does not compensate for the expansion of hot water, and the excess escapes through the safety valve.
Note if the dripping always coincides with the heating and not when cold: this indicates that the problem is in the expansion vessel rather than in the safety valve.
- 04
A sharp knock or vibration is noticeable in the pipes when the heating pump starts.
Cause: The vessel dampens the pressure shocks when the pump starts; without air precharge, that shock is transmitted throughout the entire system.
Check that the pump and radiators are not airlocked by bleeding them before attributing the knock solely to the expansion vessel.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
