Expansion Vessel Manaut Micon 24 E Ref. BI1172103
The expansion vessel Biasi Micon 24 E Ref. BI1172103 absorbs the increase in water volume when heated, preventing pressure issues in the boiler. When it fails, you will notice that the pressure fluctuates sharply, and the safety valve may drip. This model is compatible with Biasi boilers such as Micon 24 E, Micon 23 E, Minox 24 A, among others. It is recommended to replace it if you observe these symptoms, as its malfunction can affect the system's performance.

How to check if the part number BI1172103 is the one for your boiler.
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference BI1172103. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the expansion vessel BI1172103 resolves.
The expansion vessel absorbs the expansion of water when heated. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The boiler loses pressure on its own within a few days, and it needs to be refilled with the filling key repeatedly.
Cause: The expansion vessel has lost its pre-charge air (due to membrane rupture or a leak in the valve) and no longer compensates for the expansion of the water.
With the boiler cold and the circuit without pressure, press the Schrader valve of the expansion vessel: if no air comes out or water comes out, that's the problem; also check fittings and bleed valves in case the leak is elsewhere.
- 02
The safety valve drips or discharges water every time the boiler heats up.
Cause: Without the cushioning of the expansion vessel, the expansion of the hot water directly results in overpressure that opens the gas valve.
Check the cold fill pressure before declaring the vessel empty; if it is already high when cold, the issue may be with the filling and not the vessel.
- 03
A knocking or "hammer" sound is heard in the pipes when the heating pump starts.
Cause: The vessel no longer absorbs the pressure peak generated by the start of the circulator.
Bleed the radiators properly and check that the shut-off valves are fully open before attributing it to the expansion vessel.
- 04
The tank feels swollen, bulging, or hot to the touch on its bottom side.
Cause: The inner membrane has ruptured and the vessel has filled with water instead of air, losing its damping function.
With the circuit depressurized, press the valve of the expansion vessel; if water comes out instead of air, the membrane is broken and cannot be repaired.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
