Stock · 3 units

The Sime Metropolis H 25 Flow Switch Ref. 6149312 is a flow detector that is responsible for detecting the flow of water when a tap is opened, thus activating the ignition for the production of domestic hot water (DHW). If it fails, you will notice that hot water does not come out even when the tap is open. This flow switch is compatible with boilers from the Metropolis range, such as the Metropolis 25 BF and the Metropolis 30 BF, as well as with models from the Climit GG and Open ranges. It is recommended to replace it when the symptom of lack of hot water when opening the tap occurs.

Guide

How to check if the ref. 6149312 is the part for your boiler

What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.

  1. Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 6149312. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
  2. Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
  3. Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
  4. If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Diagnosis and fault codes

Symptoms and faults that the flow meter 6149312 resolves.

The flow meter detects the passage of water to activate the domestic hot water. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

Common symptoms and faults

  • 01

You turn on the hot water tap and the boiler does not ignite the burner to heat it.

Cause: The flow switch does not detect the flow of water and does not send the necessary signal to the control board to start the DHW mode.

Check that water flows with good pressure from the tap; if the flow rate is very low, the pressure switch may not activate even if it is in good condition.

  • 02

The water comes out cold or takes a long time to heat up even though the boiler is on in other modes.

Cause: If the flow switch detects the flow intermittently, the boiler turns the domestic hot water burner on and off without maintaining the flame.

Check if the cold water inlet filter is dirty or has limescale buildup, as this reduces the flow rate and can cause the same symptom.

  • 03

The hot water comes out in bursts, heating up and cooling down intermittently while the tap remains open.

Cause: A pressure switch that intermittently loses the signal causes the boiler to repeatedly turn the burner on and off.

Measure the pressure of the installation on the manometer, because low pressure can also cause flow interruptions.

  • 04

The boiler heats the heating system well but never produces domestic hot water.

Cause: If the flow switch is blocked or does not close the contact, the control board never receives the command to switch to domestic hot water mode, even though the rest of the boiler operates correctly.

Check that there are no closed or partially closed domestic hot water shut-off valves before considering that the flow switch is faulty.

These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
