  The domestic hot water is not heating even though the tap is open and the boiler has gas and electricity.

  Cause: If the flow meter does not send the water flow signal, the boiler does not receive the command to start the burner for domestic hot water.

  Make sure that the cold water inlet shut-off valve to the boiler is fully open before suspecting the sensor.

  The burner takes several seconds to ignite after opening the tap, longer than usual.

  Cause: A flow meter with the turbine partially seized by scale takes longer to reach the minimum rotation that activates the demand.

  Open and close the tap several times in a row; if the delay increases each time, there may be dirt or limescale on the sensor.

  The temperature of the hot water fluctuates on its own while the tap remains in the same position.

  Cause: Irregular readings from the flow meter cause the PCB to modulate the burner erratically, even though the actual flow is constant.

  First, rule out a faulty single control or thermostatic mixing valve, which causes the same symptom without the sensor failing.

  The boiler indicates a low flow fault only when the water pressure in the house is low, but it works well the rest of the time.

  Cause: The flow meter requires a minimum flow rate to activate; with low inlet pressure, that minimum is not always reached.

  Measure the network pressure and flow rate at the boiler's inlet; if they are at the limit, try during a time period of higher pressure before changing the sensor.
