The gas valve regulates and modulates the gas flow to the burner. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

    The boiler does not ignite and there is no flame displayed.

    Cause: The valve does not allow gas to flow to the burner even though the PCB sends the opening command.

    Check that the gas valve is open and that the inlet pressure is normal before considering the valve as faulty.

    The flame rises and falls without you having touched the water tap.

    Cause: The coils that regulate the opening fail intermittently and the gas flow varies uncontrollably.

    Check if the fault occurs only when more than one hot water point is open at the same time, before attributing it to the gas valve.

  • 03

    Do you notice a slight smell of gas near the boiler even when it is turned off?

    Cause: Over time, the internal seals of the gas valve lose tightness and allow gas to pass when at rest.

    If you smell gas, turn off the main valve and ventilate the area before taking any action: do not use the boiler until it has been checked.
