  The hot water from the tap comes out weak or increasingly less hot, even though the boiler ignites properly.

  Cause: The scale gradually reduces the capacity of the heat exchanger to transfer heat to the domestic hot water.

  Before replacing it, check if the problem improves with a chemical cleaning of the heat exchanger, especially if the boiler has not been maintained for years.

  Water is leaking from the bottom of the boiler when it heats water.

  Cause: It loses seal between the plates and the water escapes to the outside of the heat exchanger.

  Dry the area and set the boiler to heat water to see if the drip is coming directly from the plate block and not from a nearby fitting or bleed valve.

  When opening the hot water, the heating pressure rises or the safety valve trips.

  Cause: A perforated plate mixes the water from the heating circuit with the domestic hot water circuit.

  Monitor the pressure gauge before and after opening a domestic hot water tap: a rapid increase in pressure indicates internal mixing.

  It takes significantly longer than usual for hot water to come out of the tap.

  Cause: The internal passage of the plates is getting clogged with lime, delaying the heat exchange.

  First, check if the water inlet filter is dirty, as it causes the same delay without the heat exchanger failing.
