How to check if the ref. 87174010120 is the part for your boiler.
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 87174010120. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the safety valve 87174010120 resolves.
The safety valve releases pressure when the circuit exceeds its setting. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The valve is leaking water even though the pressure gauge shows less than 3 bar.
Cause: If the spring has lost tension or the seat is dirty, the valve may open before reaching its proper pressure.
Look at the pressure gauge right at the moment of the dripping and note the reading: if it is well below 3 bar, there is no need to wait for it to get worse.
- 02
Water continues to flow through the discharge even though the pressure has dropped below 3 bar.
Cause: Once the seat loses tightness, it can continue to allow water to pass even at normalized pressure.
Check if the dripping continues with the circuit clearly below the set point; if so, it is a leak due to wear.
- 03
It does not seal after performing a manual bleed with the cold boiler.
Cause: The shutter does not seat properly again, which is common when it has been running for a long time or has accumulated scale on the seat.
Repeat the bleeding with the boiler cold and at rest for a few minutes: if it continues to drip, rule out that it is a temporary residue.
- 04
The boiler slowly loses pressure and the circuit needs to be refilled from time to time.
Cause: A valve that does not close completely allows small amounts of water to escape, which are not always visible as obvious dripping.
Before filling, dry the area around the gas valve and check the next day for any new moisture; that way you will know if the leak is coming from there.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
