Manaut GLM4 16 transformer
When you turn on the hot water tap or activate the heating, the Manaut GLM4 16 transformer is activated to generate the spark that ignites the burner of your boiler. If this part fails, you will notice that the boiler tries to start without being able to generate a flame, which can lead to a lockout. This transformer is compatible with several models, including those from the BIL5, GLM, and GTX ranges, among others. It is recommended to replace it if you experience these ignition issues.

How to check if it is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference —. If it is not visible, do not identify the part by its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the ignition transformer resolves
The ignition transformer generates the high voltage for the spark of the electrodes. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The burner does not ignite: you can hear the attempt but there is no spark at the electrode.
Cause: The transformer generates the high voltage necessary for the ignition electrode. If it fails, there is no spark to ignite the gas.
With the boiler turned on, check if the electrode sparks; if there is no spark, the problem may be the transformer.
- 02
There is a smell of gas when trying to ignite the boiler, and it blocks immediately.
Cause: Without a spark, the gas is released without burning, and the boiler locks out for safety as it does not detect a flame.
Before changing the transformer, check that the wires (red and white) are properly connected to the electrode and are not loose or frayed.
- 03
The spark is weak, intermittent, or only ignites sometimes.
Cause: A damaged transformer generates a spark of lower intensity and does not always ignite the burner.
Check if the electrode is dirty or the connectors are oxidized, as this can also weaken the spark.
- 04
A strange buzzing or crackling sound is heard in the area of the transformer, with or without flame.
Cause: A deteriorated internal insulation causes high voltage leaks that generate that noise.
With the boiler turned off and cold, visually check that the high voltage cables do not have cracks or arc marks before replacing the transformer.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
