Description

Baxi combines home heating and hot water for taps and showers. When choosing it, both water usage and heating needs are important: a home with multiple showers running at the same time requires a different assessment.

Its micro-accumulation system helps to have hot water ready for everyday use. It is not equivalent to a large tank: the choice should take into account the flow rate you need and how many taps or showers you will use at the same time.

Can it supply two showers of 8 l/min at the same time?
With two showers of 8 l/min (16 l/min) and inlet water at 10 °C heated to 45 °C, the temperature difference is ΔT 35 °C. This variant delivers 12.7 l/min, so it is not sufficient to maintain two simultaneous showers of 8 l/min under those conditions. For a single shower of 8 l/min, there is available flow; the inlet temperature and network pressure determine the actual result.
Is it instantaneous or does it have a domestic hot water storage tank?
The main production of domestic hot water is instantaneous through an integrated plate heat exchanger. Micro-accumulation improves the initial response but does not replace a large-volume storage water heater. The 8 l expansion vessel belongs to the heating circuit and does not store water for showers.
What are its dimensions and how is it installed?
The unit measures 700 x 395 x 285 mm (height x width x depth). It is installed on a solid, smooth, and vertical wall, using its wall bracket; two people are needed to lift and hang it. The fastening, connections, and clearances depend on the installation and the flue adapter, so these should be carried out by a professional.
How does it modulate and what controls does it support?
The flow temperature is automatically adjusted with a modulating thermostat, OpenTherm or BAXI CONNECT. It also supports R-Bus, OpenTherm, and room thermostat connections; the pump modulates from 85% to 100% in heating and operates at a fixed 100% in domestic hot water.
What gas does it use?
For Spain, work with category II2H3P, G20 (natural gas) or G31 (propane). The gas configuration and checks must be adjusted to the installation and applicable regulations by qualified personnel.
