Guide

How to check if ref. I39809690 is the part for your boiler

What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.

  1. Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference I39809690. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
  2. Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
  3. Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
  4. If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Diagnosis and fault codes

Symptoms and faults that the expansion vessel I39809690 resolves.

The expansion vessel absorbs the expansion of water when heated. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

Common symptoms and faults

  • 01

The boiler frequently loses pressure and the circuit needs to be refilled almost every week.

Cause: The expansion vessel has lost its air precharge and no longer compensates for the water expansion, so the circuit quickly runs low on pressure.

With the system cold, check the pressure at the Schrader-type valve of the expansion vessel; if it is significantly below the usual pre-charge (1-1.5 bar), try recharging air before replacing it.

  • 02

Water drips from the safety valve every time the boiler has been heating for a while.

Cause: If the expansion vessel does not absorb the expansion, the pressure in the circuit suddenly rises when heating, and the safety valve is forced to open.

Check the pressure gauge when cold and then look at it again a few minutes after turning it on; a sudden increase points to the expansion vessel, not the valve.

  • 03

A loud thud or hammering sound is heard in the pipes when the boiler starts.

Cause: Without the air cushion to absorb the impact, the water pushes directly against the walls of the installation and causes water hammer.

Disconnect the expansion vessel and shake it gently; if you hear sloshing or feel the weight of water on the air side, the diaphragm is broken.

  • 04

The pressure rises and falls irregularly as the boiler heats up.

Cause: An expansion vessel with a deteriorated membrane does not keep the air cushion stable against temperature changes.

Check that the shut-off valve to the expansion vessel, if the installation has one, is fully open before considering the part as faulty.

These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
