Symptoms and faults that the hydraulic group resolves

The hydraulic group includes the valve, the by-pass, and the water connections. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

Common symptoms and faults

  • 01

    There is a water leak at the T connection, where the three sections of pipe meet.

    Cause: It is the point that bears the most mechanical stress, and the plastic yields there before in the rest of the pipe.

    Check the three arms of the T-piece separately: if moisture is coming from only one, it might be the pipe and not the T-piece itself.

  • 02

    The white clip that holds the connection is broken or does not fit properly.

    Cause: That clip keeps the tube inserted under pressure; if it breaks, the connection loses tightness even though the body of the T is intact.

    Before replacing the entire part, check if only the clip is damaged and if any securing teeth are missing.

  • 03

    A small whistling or gurgling sound can be heard near that area when the boiler is running.

    Cause: If the connection is not completely sealed, air can enter the circuit and generate that noise.

    With the boiler on, bring your ear close to the T area without touching it to determine if the noise is coming from there.

  • 04

    The part moves or is loose when touched, even though it hasn't started leaking yet.

    Cause: With the worn clip, the fitting loses the press-fit and becomes loose before it starts to leak.

    Check by hand, without forcing, if the T-joint has play relative to the pipes it connects: if it moves, it's only a matter of time.
