Vaillant Pressure Gauge VMW ES 28 362 5 R3 Ref. 101271
Pressure gauge Vaillant VMW ES 28 362 5 R3 Ref. 101271 measures and controls the pressure of the boiler circuit. If it malfunctions, you may notice incorrect readings that can cause lockouts due to false low pressure or poor temperature regulation. This pressure gauge is compatible with several models from the Turbotec, Atmotec, VM, and VMI ranges, among others. It is recommended to replace it if you notice that the pressure is not displayed correctly or if the boiler is not functioning as it should.

How to check if ref. 101271 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 101271. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the pressure gauge 101271 resolves.
The manometer shows the pressure of the boiler circuit. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The needle doesn't move; it always stays at the same point no matter what I do with the installation.
Cause: The internal spring of the pressure gauge gets stuck due to rust or accumulated scale and stops responding to pressure changes.
Bleed a radiator or briefly open the filling valve and see if the needle reacts; if it doesn't move at all, the pressure gauge is suspect.
- 02
It indicates a pressure that doesn't match what the rest of the boiler says, for example, the low pressure fault triggers and the pressure gauge shows it's fine.
Cause: The mechanism loses calibration over time, and the reading deviates even though it continues to operate normally.
If the boiler has a digital pressure reading, compare it with the gauge before replacing it.
- 03
There is water dripping from the back, either from the fitting or the capillary that goes to the circuit.
Cause: The fitting gasket or the capillary itself degrades with the cycles of heat and pressure and starts to leak.
Dry the area thoroughly and tighten the fitting without forcing it; if the leak reappears in minutes, it's not just a matter of tightening.
- 04
The needle is stuck right at the red mark of 3 bar, even though you have bled and lowered the pressure.
Cause: It is common for it to get stuck at the stop if dirt or limescale has entered the mechanism after a temporary overpressure.
Gently tap the sphere with your finger, without applying force, and check if the needle drops; if it doesn't, the blockage is internal.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
