Ariston Chaffoteaux Thermo Pigma Air Pressure Switch Ref. 65111458
The Ariston Chaffoteaux Thermo Pigma air pressure switch monitors the air pressure in the boiler and authorizes its operation. If it fails, the boiler may not start or may become locked, even if the actual pressure is correct. You may notice issues such as the fault code E05, which indicates an anomaly with the flue pressure switch. This pressure switch is compatible with models such as the Ariston Egis Nox and the Chaffoteaux Pigma Nox, among others. It is replaced when you detect starting failures or blockages in the system.

How to check if the reference 65111458 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 65111458. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the pressure switch 65111458 resolves.
The pressure switch controls the air or water pressure to authorize operation. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The boiler does not ignite the flame, although the fan is working.
Cause: The pressure switch must confirm the air pressure for the boiler to ignite; if it does not receive that signal, the gas valve does not open.
Check that the pressure take-off and its pipes are connected and in good condition before replacing the pressure switch.
- 02
A fault code for the pressure switch appears on the display.
Cause: This code indicates that the control unit does not receive the pressure switch contact change in time.
Check the condition of the flue gas outlet duct and its external termination: a blockage can generate the same fault code without the pressure switch being damaged.
- 03
It works well when cold but fails after a while, or vice versa.
Cause: A pressure switch with a worn diaphragm may work well under certain conditions and fail under others, causing erratic behavior.
Gently clean the connection pipes with air, without liquids, and test again before deciding to replace the part.
- 04
The boiler gets blocked especially on very windy days.
Cause: Wind gusts at the air intake or exhaust alter the pressure, and a pressure switch that is at its limit stops functioning properly under those conditions.
If the blockage always occurs on windy days, check the flue terminal first before the pressure switch.
Fault codes Chaffoteaux that this part resolves
| Code | Fault | Diagnosis and solution |
|---|---|---|
| E05 | Flue pressure switch anomaly. | The air pressure switch does not switch (damaged diaphragm/contacts, blocked hoses or venturi inlets); check micro continuity at start-up and the depression in the venturi with a manometer (in Pigma 24 FF ≥70 Pa). |
| 6 07 | Pressure switch ON Fan OFF (flue pressure switch closed with fan stopped). | The pressure switch remains stuck/closed due to internal fault or moisture in the tubes; check that it remains closed without depression (continuity test) and ensure that the hoses do not have siphon/condensate. |
| 6 08 | Pressure switch OFF Fan ON (flue pressure switch open with fan running). | The pressure switch does not close when draft is generated (fatigued diaphragm or blocked connections/hoses); check that it closes with the fan running by measuring continuity and pressure drop in the venturi. |
| 6 P1 | Flue Pressure Delay (late closure of the flue pressure switch). | The pressure switch takes time to switch to ON due to slow response or lack of initial depression; measure the micro-switching times when the fan starts and clean the pressure switch connections/hoses. |
| 6 P2 | Flue Pressure Opening (unexpected opening of the flue pressure switch). | The pressure switch opens during service due to membrane instability or momentary loss of depression; monitor micro continuity with the fan at speed and check tubes and connection to the venturi. |
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
