  The valve releases water as soon as the boiler starts heating, even though the pressure seems normal when cold.

  Cause: An expansion vessel without charge does not absorb the expansion of the water, and the pressure rises quickly until the valve activates.

  Measure the pre-charge of the expansion vessel with the installation cold before declaring the valve faulty.

  The circuit needs to be refilled frequently, and there are no visible leaks in the rest of the installation.

  Cause: A slow drip from the valve, even if unnoticed, gradually reduces the pressure in the circuit over the days.

  Place dry paper under the discharge outlet for a day and check if it gets damp before looking for the leak elsewhere.

  You can see lime deposits or dry white stains next to the valve, on the floor, or on the boiler itself.

  Cause: They are marks from previous drips that have already dried, indicating that the valve has not been fully closing for some time.

  Check if the stains coincide with the pressure spikes when heating before assuming the valve is broken.
