Flamco Safety Valve OSV 31 (OSV31) · 3 Bar · 50 kW · Junkers Boilers

It is the safety element that opens and discharges water when the circuit pressure reaches its set point, marked in this unit as 3 bar. This set point is not the cold filling pressure of the boiler. If it discharges frequently, have a technician check the cause first.

Guide

How to check if it is the part for your boiler

The part reference, model, and equipment revision must be verified against the manufacturer's documentation.

  1. Look for the designation OSV31 (also written as OSV 31 or OSV-31) and the brand Flamco on your boiler's valve.
  2. Compare the technical markings of our part with yours: setting 3 bar, maximum temperature 110 °C, and power 50 kW.
  3. To confirm: Do not consider the Remeha 200022010 as equivalent; the German source lists it as equivalent to the OSV31, but with 3.5 bar, while this part indicates 3 bar. In the pages we have read, none link the Junkers 87174010120 with the OSV31.
  4. If they match, call us at 911 17 77 77 with the model of your boiler. Any questions? Send us a photo of the label of your spare part and the data plate of the boiler from the Contact section.
Diagnosis and fault codes

Symptoms that require diagnosis in the safety valve

The safety valve releases pressure when the circuit exceeds its setting. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

Common symptoms and faults

  • 01

The safety valve frequently discharges water.

Cause: The pressure in the circuit reaches the setting of the valve (3 bar in this part) and the valve opens to discharge.

Ask a qualified technician to check the cause before replacing the gas valve.

  • 02

The water symbol appears on the boiler screen.

Cause: Water pressure below 0.8 bar in the installation.

Fill the installation up to 1.5-2 bar. If the pressure continues to drop, have a technician check it.

These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.

Before purchasing
  • To confirm: Remeha Calenta — (German: hydraulic module 7616272; second-hand Dutch: Calenta 40c from 2019)
  • To confirm: Remeha Hera Condens — (German: hydraulic module 7616272; there the Remeha valve is 3.5 bar)
  • Do not confuse: 200022010 — Remeha safety valve of 3.5 bar — it is presented as equivalent to the OSV31, but its setting is 3.5 bar and this part is marked 3 bar.
  • Do not confuse: 7616272 — Remeha hydraulic module (MY445) where the gas valve goes, — It is the module, not the valve.
  • Do not confuse: 87174010120 — Junkers/Bosch safety valve of 3 bar (in the official Cerapur parts list it appears as 8 717 401 012 0) — This is the one listed for Junkers boilers; in the documentation, none link it to the OSV31 or Flamco.
  • Do not confuse: 8740931 — Remeha 3 bar pressure relief valve for Calenta (Wasco code) — it is not compatible with the OSV31 or Flamco and does not provide a manufacturer designation: there is no proof that it is the same valve.
  • The equivalence OSV31 = Remeha 200022010 has only one setting of 3.5 bar; this part marks 3 bar. Compare the setting before considering it acceptable.
  • To confirm: (a German and a Dutch one) mention the Flamco OSV31 and locate it in Remeha; a third one is missing. One provides it with 3.5 bar and the part indicates 3 bar. For Junkers, only the workshop's confirmation is available.
Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions about the safety valve

What is the Flamco OSV 31 and how do I identify it?
It is a Flamco safety valve. The part is marked "OSV31" along with a setting of 3 bar, a maximum temperature of 110 °C, and a power of 50 kW. A German and a Dutch version refer to it as "Flamco OSV31". Compare the designation and the three markings with those of your valve.
Is it compatible with a Junkers boiler?
Yes: Confirmed: for Junkers boilers, although it does not specify the model. On the pages we have read, without additional external confirmation, it links it to a specific Junkers model. A Dutch seller offering a used one states that it is used "voor diverse merken en modellen o.a. Remeha" (for various brands and models, including Remeha), without listing them.
Is it compatible with my Remeha Calenta or Hera Condens boiler?
To confirm: Not confirmed for any Remeha. The German company sells for Hera Condens and Calenta (hydraulic module 7616272) a Remeha valve of 3.5 bar that is equivalent to the OSV31; it is not this 3 bar part. The Dutch company offers a used one for a Calenta 40c from 2019. They are for Calenta and 1 for Hera Condens, not 3.
Is it the same as the Remeha valve 200022010?
We do not take it for granted. The German company presents the OSV31 as an original spare part from Remeha with order number 200022010, but that valve is rated at 3.5 bar and this part is marked at 3 bar. It is a single one. The 7616272 in your title is the hydraulic module MY445, not the valve. Compare the pressure settings.
Is it the same as the Junkers valve 87174010120?
We do not take it for granted. The official breakdown for Junkers Cerapur ZSBR/ZWBR lists a "Sicherheitsventil 3bar" with the code 8 717 401 012 0, and in Germany, it is provided for Junkers series such as ZR, ZSN, or ZWN. None of those mention the OSV 31 or Flamco. Compare the designation, the setting, and the connection.
What do the 3 bar, 110 °C, and 50 kW indicate?
The 3 bar is the set pressure: the pressure at which the safety valve opens, not the cold filling pressure of the boiler. The 110 °C and 50 kW are the maximum temperature and rated power; the workshop sheet adds the CE marking. These are values from the photographed unit, not operating measurements.
Who should install this gas valve?
A qualified technician. It is a safety element of the heating circuit and works with pressurized water. If yours is frequently discharging, have the technician check the cause first before replacing it.
