Junkers Safety Valve 3 Bar · Code 1002 · ref. VSEG011

It is the safety element of the heating circuit: it opens and discharges water when the pressure reaches its set point, which in this unit is marked at 3 bar. It is suspected if it does not close properly after the test with the cover (datasheet of the SVH series from Watts, not confirmed for this unit).

Guide

How to check if it is the part for your boiler

The part reference, model, and equipment revision must be verified against the manufacturer's documentation.

  1. Look for the marking 1002 on the valve and the setting: this unit has a 3 bar opening pressure, not the cold filling pressure.
  2. Compare them with those of your current valve and measure the inlet and outlet threads: code 1002 does not indicate them.
  3. Do not consider it equivalent to other 3 bar codes (350.00.1002, 87174010120, 7100064, 10004639): no technical sheet read links them to the 1002.
  4. Note the model and the code of the rating plate of your boiler.
  5. Any questions? Send us a photo of your part's label and the boiler's control board from the Contact section, or call us at 911 17 77 77.

Before purchasing
  • As a reference for the type of part: the Watts datasheet for the SVH series (not confirmed as the one for this unit) indicates that when testing it by turning the cover, the valve should close again; if it does not close, it needs to be replaced.
  • Do not confuse: BV-1002 — 2-inch check valve for drainage from Watts (order code 8185925) — It is another product from Watts with 1002 in the name; it is not a heating safety valve.
  • Do not confuse: 350.00.1002 — RML code for a 1/2" H/H valve and 3 bar; its technical sheet mentions Viessmann and Orkli GAZOLA18R — It is a code and its technical sheet does not mention Watts nor the standalone marking 1002.
  • Do not confuse: 87174010120 — Junkers/Bosch safety valve of 3 bar ("Soupape de sécurité 3bar" in the official Bosch catalog), 1/2" inlet and 3/4" internal thread outlet — It is the Junkers code for another part: no technical sheet read links it to the marking 1002.
  • Do not confuse: 7100064 — Junkers gas valve threaded for GB112, U104W, and U11x/12x — Another Junkers code; it does not connect to 1002.
  • Do not confuse: 0207530 — Watts MSV/E30 safety valve 1/2" H×H and 3 bar, according to — It is another Watts code of 3 bar; its technical sheet does not mention 1002.
  • Do not confuse: 10004639 — Watts SVH 30: heating safety valve of 3.0 bar, 1/2" × 3/4" — It is from the SVH series by Watts; its datasheet does not link it with 1002.
  • without additional confirmation, publish the 1002 as a spare part for a safety valve: Watts uses "BV-1002" for a backflow preventer and "350.00.1002" as the code. The Watts items read (8185925, 0207530, 10004639) have 7 or 8 digits.
  • Brand discrepancy: it lists Junkers as the brand of the part and confirms it for Junkers boilers without a model; it titles the unit WATTS. Not confirmed: the 1002 with a brand or model of boiler.
Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions about the safety valve

What does the code 1002 marked on this safety valve mean?
It is the code marked on the valve, which also has a setting of 3 bar. It has the reference 6101010, which does not appear. Without additional confirmation, publish 1002 as a spare part for a safety valve: Watts uses "BV-1002" for a non-return drain valve and uses 350.00.1002 as its own code. We treat it as marked on the part, not as an equivalence with others.
How do I identify this gas valve?
Check the valve for the marking 1002 and the setting of 3 bar, and compare them with your current valve. Also measure the thread: in the SVH heating series from Watts, the outlet is a nominal size larger than the inlet (the SVH 30, rated at 3.0 bar, is 1/2" × 3/4"), but we have not confirmed that this unit belongs to that series.
Is it compatible with my Junkers boiler?
Yes: Confirmation registered: the spare part for Junkers boilers, without a specific model indicated. Not confirmed: the 1002 of this gas valve with a boiler model: gives 350.00.1002, another code, as an OEM part from Viessmann. To check a specific model, send us a photo of the valve and the PCB of your boiler from Contact, or call us at 911 17 77 77.
Is it the same as the Junkers gas valve 3 bar 87174010120?
We cannot affirm that. The 87174010120 is the Junkers/Bosch valve rated for 3 bar ("Soupape de sécurité 3bar" in the official Bosch spare parts catalog), with a 1/2" inlet and a 3/4" internal thread outlet. Bosch lists it for, among others, ZWR24-2KD21-23S3604, ZR24-2KD21-23S3604, and ZWE24-1KDP23S3600. No technical sheet mentions the 1002: compare the two valves before assuming they are the same.
Are there other 3 bar valves with a different code?
To confirm: Yes, and they are not this part. The German one is the Junkers 7100064 (3.0 bar, threaded) for GB112, U104W, and U11x/12x; another list includes the Bosch/Junkers YJU7099949 (3 bar, up to 100 kW) and YJU7100888 (3 bar, plug-in); and the Watts MSV/E30 0207530 (1/2" H×H, 3 bar). None mention the 1002.
What does the "3 bar" marked on the valve indicate?
It is the set pressure: the pressure at which the valve opens and discharges. It is not the cold filling pressure of the boiler, and it is the value marked on the photographed unit, not a measurement. Watts offers its heating valves SVH and SVM with a setting of 2.5 or 3 bar, so the setting alone is not enough to determine the model.
Who should install this gas valve and what should be checked during the installation?
A qualified technician: it is a safety element of a circuit with pressurized water. The datasheet from Watts for the SVH series (not confirmed for this unit) requests to install it vertically at the highest point of the generator, without a shut-off valve at the inlet, and to check it at least once a year. If you are unsure whether it is from that series, follow the instructions of your valve and your installer.
