How to check if it is the part for your boiler
The part reference, model, and equipment revision must be verified against the manufacturer's documentation.
- Look at the red knob of your gas valve. This part is engraved with the manufacturer's brand and the markings "mod 1/2"", "3 bar" and "116KW/h". The body is marked with the size "1/2".
- Compare the shape. Body at an angle, with a female threaded mouth and an arrow engraved next to it, and at the opposite end from the handle, an external thread with a black O-ring.
- Check the setting. The 3 bar is the pressure at which the valve opens, not the cold filling pressure of the boiler. If the value marked on yours is different, this is not your spare part.
- Check if your valve has a pressure gauge connection or a pressure gauge. This part does not have them.

Before purchasing
- Do not confuse with 17003-00: 3 bar safety valve with 1/2 female-female connections and without pressure gauge connection. It matches in brand, setting, and nominal size. This part has one end with external thread and O-ring: do not consider it equivalent without comparing the marking and the shape of the connections.
- Do not confuse with 17004-00 / 17004-01: 3 bar safety valves with 1/2 female-female connection with pressure gauge connection or with pressure gauge: the 17004-00 has a 1/4 female pressure gauge connection and the 17004-01 has an integrated pressure gauge. This part does not have either a connection or a pressure gauge.
- Do not confuse with 17106: Safety valve code for other boiler brands. Its setting and connection are not specified: do not request it by that code without comparing the marking.
- Do not confuse with Caleffi 532743: Same setting. It is a diaphragm valve of up to 50 kW with 1/2" male x 3/4" female thread: compare the marking and the connections before considering it equivalent.

Do not consider it equivalent. These valves are rated for 3 bar and have 1/2 female-female connections: the 17003-00 without pressure gauge connection, the 17004-00 with 1/4 female connection, and the 17004-01 with pressure gauge. This part matches in brand, setting, and nominal size, but it has a female inlet and an end with external thread and O-ring. Compare the marking and shape, or send us a photo.
Does any 3 bar safety valve with a 1/2 inch thread work?
That's not enough. There are versions with and without pressure gauge connection. There are also 3 bar valves with 1/2" male thread x 3/4" female thread and a power of up to 50 kW, such as the Caleffi 532743. Compare the complete marking and the shape of the connections. If in doubt, consult us.
What does the 3 bar setting marked on the valve mean?
It is the pressure at which the safety valve opens and discharges water from the circuit. It is not the cold filling pressure of the boiler. It is the value marked on the part. There are safety valves with different settings, so check the value of yours.
