The part reference, model, and equipment revision must be verified against the manufacturer's documentation.
- Locate the safety valve of your boiler and check its red cap. This unit is marked with 3 bar, PN10, and Tmax 110 °C, and the Caleffi brand molded on the body.
- Compare the shape of the connections. This unit has a plug-in end with O-rings and a locking tab, and another with a male thread. Measure the thread of your gas valve before ordering.
- Check the code of your gas valve. If it is 8 717 401 012, 87174010120, 87074010270, or 312430, it is a different code: do not assume it is the same as the VSEG005 without comparing the setting, thread, and shape.

- Do not confuse with 312430: Caleffi series 312 safety valve, 3 bar, 1/2” male-female, with G 1/2 thread on both ends. It matches in brand and setting, but this unit has a plug-in end: compare marking and shape.
- Do not confuse with 8 717 401 012 (also 87174010120): Junkers safety valve of 3 bar. It is a proprietary code of Junkers (the 11-digit orders add a 0 at the end), different from VSEG005: do not assume they are the same without comparing the setting, thread, and shape.

We do not consider it equivalent. The 312430 is a Caleffi series 312 safety valve rated at 3 bar and 1/2”, with a brass body and G 1/2 male and female threads. It matches in brand and setting, but this unit has a plug-in end with O-rings and a retaining tab. Compare the markings and shape before considering them the same.
Is it sold tested and with a warranty? Who should install it?
