How to check if it is the part for your boiler
The part reference, model, and equipment revision must be verified against the manufacturer's documentation.
- Look at the setting marked on your current gas valve: this unit has 3 bar on the red lever. It is the pressure at which it opens and discharges.
- Compare the remote: the one for this unit is red and black, with the "3 bar" embossed on the lever.
- Compare the connections: this unit has two brass male connections with an O-ring, at a 90° angle to each other, and a molded arrow on the body. The calibration does not indicate the diameter: measure those of your valve.
- Note the Junkers code of your gas valve and the model of the boiler's data plate. This unit does not have a readable Junkers code: do not consider it equivalent to any code.
- Any questions? Send us a photo of your gas valve and the PCB of the boiler from Contact, or call us at 911 17 77 77.
- It should be installed by a qualified technician: it is a safety element of a circuit with pressurized water.
Symptoms that require diagnosis in the safety valve
The safety valve releases pressure when the circuit exceeds its setting. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The valve is leaking or losing water through the discharge.
Cause: Faulty, worn or blocked valve.
Check the pressure gauge with the boiler running and see if the gas valve is leaking. Have a technician confirm it.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.

- Do not confuse with 87174010120: Junkers safety valve of 3 bar (8 717 401 012 0) for the Cerapur ZBR 7/11-28 A, ZBR 8-35 A, ZBR 11/14-42 A, ZSBR 3/5-12 A, and ZSBR/ZWBR 7/11-25 A. We cannot confirm that this is the unit, which does not have that readable code.
- Do not confuse with 8707401027: Safety valve for the Junkers Euroline ZS/ZW 18/23-1AE. It is also written as 87074010270. It is a different code and another series of boilers than 87174010120: do not mix them.
- Do not confuse with 8718643989: Another Junkers safety valve of 3 bar, with a different code. This unit does not have that readable code.
- Do not confuse with 8718644566: Another Junkers safety valve of 3 bar, with a different code. This unit does not have that readable code.
- Do not confuse with 8717401035: Another Junkers safety valve (8 717 401 035 0) for the ZBR, ZSBE, and ZSBR 16, 28, and 42-3. It is not the 8717401012: the name "ZBR" is not enough to know which valve your boiler uses.
