Guide

How to check if it is the part for your boiler

The part reference, model, and equipment revision must be verified against the manufacturer's documentation.

  1. Look for the codes marked 8 744 501 278, LF 01.36, and FD.285 on the label. The circuit code is 8 748 101 288.
  2. Compare the fuses (F1 T2A, F3 T3.15, F4 1.25A) and the white block with code 8 747 501 261.
  3. Do not confuse it with 8748300561, which some provide for the ZWA 24-1 AM: it is a different code.
  4. Check on the rating plate that your boiler is a Junkers ZWA 24 1AM 23, the model that confirms it.
  5. if they match, call us at 911 17 77 77 with the model of your boiler. Any questions? Send us a photo from Contact.
Diagnosis and fault codes

Symptoms that require diagnosis in the junkers

Common symptoms and faults

  • 01

The reset button flashes once per second.

Cause: Ignition fault, overheating, internal fault or leaks in the safety valve. Among the most common causes is the PCB.

Have a technician check it. Do not insist on repeated resets.

  • 02

The reset button flashes four times per second.

Cause: Loose or defective encoder connector, or incorrectly installed or defective heating or domestic hot water NTC. The pressure switch, fan, or flue duct may also fail.

Have a technician check it, who will verify the sensors and the connector before replacing the PCB.

  • 03

The heating is not working, but hot water is coming out.

Cause: Fault in the ambient thermostat signal or its connection. It may also be a faulty thermostat or the PCB.

Check the room thermostat and its cable. If it remains the same, have a technician check it.

  • 04

The boiler is not working and the indicators are not lighting up.

Cause: No voltage: faulty fuse F1 or F2, faulty transformer or connection, or PCB.

    Have a technician check it.

  • 05

There is no hot water, but the heating works.

Cause: Faulty water flow detector (turbine) or faulty hot water NTC. It could also be the PCB.

    Have a technician check it.

These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.

Pending applications to verify
Junkers ZWA 24 1AM 23 — compatibility noted; pending confirmation by variant.
Before purchasing
  • Not compatible or excluded by default: Junkers ZWA 24-1 A — Its official spare parts list provides a different PCB: 8 748 300 496
  • Not compatible or excluded from origin: Junkers ZWA 24-1 K — Its official spare parts list provides another PCB: 8 748 300 431
  • Do not confuse: 8748300561 — PCB of the Eurosmart ZWA 24-1 AM according to (also listed as "ex 8748300488") — Another code: without additional confirmation it links to 8 744 501 278 nor to LF 01.36. Registered confirmation: 8 744 501 278 for the ZWA 24 1AM 23.
  • Do not confuse: 8748300417 — Base PCB ZWA 24-1 A/K from Junkers, — Another code and other variants (A/K), not the AM 23.
  • Do not confuse: 8744501254 — Junkers PCB ZWC24-1MFA, — Another boiler and another code, although it starts the same (8 744 501)
  • Do not confuse: 8 744 501 228 — Code read on the chip of a PCB for Junkers ZWA 24 — A digit different from ours; it does not say AM 23 nor does it link to 8 744 501 278.
  • Registered codes. Without additional external confirmation read the list: the official lists of the ZWA 24-1 A and K provide different PCBs and the 8748300561 for the ZWA 24-1 AM.
  • Part, codes, and boiler registered. No external page read cites 8 744 501 278, 8 748 101 288, or LF 01.36 (level 0); they provide other PCBs for the ZWA 24-1 AM, A, and K, which are noted as data.
  • Pending registered applications to confirm by model, variant, or programming: Junkers ZWA 24 1AM 23.
Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions: junkers

How do I identify this Junkers LF 01.36 PCB and what does each code mean?
8 744 501 278 is the code marked on the plate (part identifier); LF 01.36 is the model designation; FD.285 is marked on the plate, but we don't know what it designates; 8 748 101 288 is the circuit code and 8 747 501 261 is the code for the white block (E 3746/6). Compare them all with your plate, not just one.
Is it compatible with my Junkers ZWA 24 1AM 23?
The compatibility of this variant is pending confirmation. Registered application: this PCB for the ZWA 24 1AM 23. Check the full model on your data plate and pay attention to the code: also for that family the 8748300561, which is another code.
Is it the same PCB as the 8748300561 that is offered for the ZWA 24-1 AM?
We cannot say that it is. The 8748300561 for the ZWA 24-1 AM; they link it to the AM 23. None link it to 8 744 501 278, 8 748 101 288 or LF 01.36. Registered confirmation: 8 744 501 278 only for the Junkers ZWA 24 1AM 23: compare the codes on your PCB before choosing.
Is it compatible with a ZWA 24-1 A or a ZWA 24-1 K?
The compatibility of this variant is pending confirmation. We do not consider it valid. The official spare parts lists for those variants (7 181 465 343 and 7 181 465 352, 02.08) include different PCBs: 8 748 300 496 in the 24-1 A and 8 748 300 431 in the 24-1 K. 8 744 501 278 does not appear. Please note that A23 and AM23 use different spare parts. If in doubt, send us a photo of your PCB and the boiler from Contact.
Is it the same as 8744501254 or 8 744 501 228, which start the same?
They are not the same code and we cannot say that they are interchangeable. The 8744501254 is for the PCB of the ZWC24-1MFA, and a second-hand PCB for the ZWA 24 reads 8 744 501 228 on the chip, one digit different. Without additional confirmation, they are linked to 8 744 501 278: compare the complete code, not just the beginning 8 744 501.
What fuses does it have and which ones should I check before replacing it?
Brand F1 T2A, F3 T3.15 (T3.15A) and F4 1.25A, and it has a blue capacitor of 1 µF and 400 V. These are values from the photographed unit, not measurements. The official list for the ZWA 24-1 A specifies fuses of 2 A (1 904 521 341) and 1.25 A (1 904 522 338); for the ZWA 24-1 K, T2A (1 904 521 341) and T1.25A (1 904 522 338). These are other variants, with the same values as F1 and F4.
Can I install it myself or should a technician do it?
It is advisable to have it installed by a qualified technician: it is a PCB of a gas boiler.
