Guide

How to check if ref. 130398 is the part for your boiler

What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.

  1. Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 130398. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
  2. Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
  3. Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
  4. If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Diagnosis and fault codes

Symptoms and faults that the PCB 130398 resolves.

The PCB controls the ignition, modulation, and safety features of the boiler. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

Common symptoms and faults

  • 01

The boiler does not turn on and does not respond to any control or button on the panel itself.

Cause: If the main PCB does not start, no command is executed in the rest of the circuit.

Check that there is mains voltage at the set of PCBs before replacing them.

  • 02

The boiler operates erratically: sometimes it responds and sometimes it doesn't, with no clear pattern.

Cause: A communication failure between the main PCB and the secondary one can result in intermittent responses.

Check that the connector and cable between both PCBs are properly seated and without bent pins before replacing them.

  • 03

The boiler has no power in the control circuit, even though the main switch is on.

Cause: The fuse next to terminal block X1 may have blown and cut off power to that part of the circuit.

Measure the T1.25 fuse with the multimeter; if it's blown, first find out which component caused it to burn.

  • 04

The boiler does not display any fault on the screen, but it simply does not heat or produce domestic hot water.

Cause: A silent fault in either of the two PCBs can leave the system without executing commands without displaying an error.

Check that the mode selector and heat demand are properly configured before assuming it's the PCBs.

Fault codes from Vaillant that this part resolves.

CodeFaultDiagnosis and solution
F.61Gas valve activation errorThe PCB controls the gas valve coil; if the driver/output on the board is faulty, the valve does not receive a command and cannot be activated. Check the voltage at the valve during demand and, with wiring/valve OK, check or replace the PCB.
F.62Gas valve disconnection delayThe switching element of the PCB that cuts the valve may become 'stuck', causing a delayed shutdown. Check for voltage presence at the valve after shutdown and rule out parasitic light/gas leak; if it persists, check the PCB.
F.63Fault: EEPROMMemory error in the PCB (corruption/defect). If it persists after a reset and sensors/wiring are correct, replace/program the PCB according to the manual.
F.64Electronic fault / NTCIf the flow/return NTC sensors and their harness are correct, the fault is in the measurement/ADC stage on the PCB. Check the ohms of the NTC at the terminals and continuity; with plausible readings, the cause is the control board.
F.65Fault: PCB temperatureOvertemperature or PCB electronics fault (thermal sensor/power stage). Check for external thermal influences and dissipation; if normal, check or replace the PCB.
F.67Fault: electronics/flameFlame signal not plausible due to a fault in the flame control electronics of the PCB. Check electrode, grounding, and ionization microamperage; with correct readings, the PCB is responsible.
F.70Invalid appliance code (DSN: "Device Specific Number")It appears after replacing the PCB (and/or display) without reprogramming the DSN of the model; the board remains without valid identification. Check in diagnostic d.93 and configure the correct DSN; if it doesn't accept, the board is either not suitable or is defective.

These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.

Before purchasing
  • There are two PCBs with different codes: 711564 is the main one and 711450 is the secondary one (confirmed on the front side). Do not confuse them when ordering the spare part.
  • On the back side, the codes 733780-03B and 733591-03A can be read, but they appear mirrored and with the last digit uncertain; they might be revision codes for the printed circuit and not the spare part reference. Do not consider them definitive.
Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions about the PCB 130398

Is this Vaillant PCB Ref. 711564/711450 suitable for a VCM 180?
