Guide

How to check if reference 59714528 is the part for your boiler

The part reference, model, and equipment revision must be verified against the manufacturer's documentation.

  1. Look at the motor label: it should say Grundfos UP 15-40/SD and P/N 59714528.
  2. Compare the data: 95 W, 0.41 A, and a 2 µF capacitor. If the label shows a different model or different data, it is another pump.
  3. Note the exact model of your boiler's PCB and compare it with those confirmed for this pump.
  4. If your boiler is a different model, send us a photo of the pump label and the boiler's PCB from the Contact section, and we will confirm if it is your spare part before you purchase.
Diagnosis and fault codes

Symptoms that require diagnosis in the circulation pump 59714528

The circulation pump circulates the water in the heating circuit. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

Common symptoms and faults

  • 01

The radiators do not heat up even though the boiler turns on.

Cause: With the heating on, check if the pump vibrates and heats up. Inspect the circuit valves.

  • 02

Stuck rotor after the summer due to prolonged lack of use.

Cause: Have a technician check if the shaft rotates freely.

  • 03

Noise, buzzing, or vibration when starting the heating.

Cause: Have a technician check it before replacing the pump.

  • 04

Visible water leaks on the body of the pump.

Cause: Dry the area and check if water comes out again from the shaft or from a nearby fitting.

  • 05

Lockout due to lack of circulation in the system.

Cause: Check that the pump is receiving power and that the valves are open.

  • 06

The boiler stops with fault code F.23 or F.24 when the temperature rises too quickly.

Cause: Blocked pump or low power, or air in the circuit.

Bleed the system and have a technician check the circulation pump.

  • 07

The boiler stops with fault code F.22: there is not enough water in the circuit.

Cause: Low water in the circuit or faulty water pressure sensor.

Fill the water circuit. If it happens again, have a technician check the pressure sensor.

  • 08

The boiler stops with fault code 05: overheating.

Cause: Possible air in the system, faulty pump or obstruction.

Have a technician check it. If the water is not circulating, the pump is suspect.

  • 09

The boiler stops with fault code 21: lack of water in the system.

Cause: Pressure below 0.5 bar: lack of water or leak.

Fill with the blue key until about 1-1.2 bar. If it drops again, have a technician check it.

  • 10

The boiler stops with fault code F22: lack of water in the system.

Cause: Low water in the circuit, either a faulty pressure sensor or a damaged pump cable.

Add treated water until it reaches the pressure indicated by the manometer. If it happens again, have it checked by the technical service.

  • 11

The boiler stops when the water does not circulate properly: the return is very hot or the temperature rises too quickly (fault codes F23 or F24).

Cause: Blocked pump or low power, or air in the circuit.

Have a technician check the pump and bleed the circuit.

  • 12

The boiler stops with a warning of low water or low pressure, and the pressure drops again after refilling.

Cause: Low water in the circuit, faulty pressure sensor, or loose wire from the pump or sensor.

Check the cold pressure and the cables. If the pressure drops again, have a technician look for leaks.

  • 13

The boiler stops due to overheating, with the warning F.20 (or F5 depending on the range). The water does not circulate well.

Cause: Lack of circulation: blocked pump, air in the circuit, or obstructed heat exchanger.

Do not reset it over and over again. Have a technician check it.

  • 14

The boiler displays the warning F.22: low water pressure and the heating is blocked.

Cause: Low water pressure in the circuit, due to a leak or lack of water.

Check the manometer: the normal pressure when cold is 1-1.5 bar. If the pressure drops again, have a technician check it.

  • 15

    It stops and shows F23.

Cause: Poor circulation: the pump does not move the water properly. Common causes: weak or jammed pump, air or dirt in the circuit.

Bleed the radiators and check the pressure. If the pump is noisy, works intermittently, or is stuck, have a technician check it.

  • 16

Stops and shows F24: the return exceeds 90 °C.

Cause: Overheating of the heating return. It may be due to a fault in the pump or a blocked heat exchanger.

Allow the boiler to cool down. Do not restart repeatedly; have a technician check it.

  • 17

    F73 appears on the screen.

Cause: The PCB does not detect that the pump starts.

Check the pressure and air in the circuit. If the pump does not start or is stuck, have a technician check it.

Grundfos fault codes that require diagnosis

CodeFaultTechnical checks
05Overheating safety: the bimetallic thermostat of the boiler has tripped, which has a manual reset. If it repeats, check that there is water in the system and that the pump is circulating. If it is not circulating, point to the pump. Have a technician check it.
F.22Stopped due to lack of water in the circuit or due to incorrect reading from the water pressure sensor.Code with a dot, typical of the Isofast Condens; the old Isofast models use numbers. With the boiler cold, check the pressure gauge: if the pressure is low, refill; if not, the sensor or the cable to the pump are suspect.
F.23Safety shutdown due to excessive temperature variation: the pump may be blocked or underpowered, or there is air in the circuit.Code with a dot, typical of the Isofast Condens. If the boiler stops again while heating, it points to the pump: have a technician check it.
F.24Safety shutdown due to too rapid temperature rise: pump blocked or with low power, or air in the circuit.Code with a dot, typical of the Isofast Condens. Just like the F.23: if it repeats, have a technician check the pump and the air in the circuit.
F20Stopped due to overheating (temperature limiter). If it repeats, have a technician check it: the blocked pump or air in the circuit may be behind it.
F.75Pressure switch fault: defective sensor or pump, or lack of water.Check the pressure and refill if it's low. If it returns with the pressure okay, have a technician check it. Point to the pump or the pressure sensor.
F09Fault of the heating circuit pressure sensor.Check the circuit pressure on the manometer. If the pressure is correct and the fault persists, have a technician check it.
F26The maximum temperature difference between supply and return is too high.It usually indicates low water circulation. Check the pump and the air in the circuit; have a technician review it.
F73The PCB does not detect that the pump is operating. It does not appear in the official table of the Xtramax HE. Confirm the code on the screen. If the pump does not start or is stuck, have a technician check it.
F9Fault of the water pressure sensor. Another guide also attributes it to a blocked filter or to the pump.Check the circuit pressure (between 1 and 1.5 bar). If it is correct and the fault code persists, have a technician check it.

These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
