Cause: The pump is not moving the water in the circuit even though the heat exchanger is heating.
Make sure the shaft rotates freely by turning it by hand through the front slot of the motor before replacing it.

A constant buzzing or vibrating sound is heard in the pump.
Cause: The impeller is spinning with friction, or there is air in the circuit and the motor has to work harder to overcome that resistance.
Bleed the air from the circuit using the nearest bleed valve and check if the noise decreases before replacing it.

A leak or water ring appears under the body of the pump.
Cause: The mechanical seal of the shaft has lost its tightness and is allowing water to pass through slowly.
Dry the area, turn on the heating, and locate whether the leak comes from the shaft or from a gasket of the casing before purchasing it.

The pump does not start when the heating is turned on.
Cause: The winding is not receiving current or the rotor is blocked and cannot start.
With the boiler turned off and cold, try turning the shaft by hand through the front slot to rule out that it is stuck.
