Guide

How to check if ref. 8747201358 is the part for your boiler

What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.

  1. Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 8747201358. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
  2. Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
  3. Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
  4. If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Diagnosis and fault codes

Symptoms and faults that the ignition transformer 8747201358 resolves.

The ignition transformer generates the high voltage for the spark of the electrodes. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

Common symptoms and faults

  • 01

The boiler does not ignite and there is no spark at any of the ignition electrodes.

Cause: The transformer does not supply current to the ignition electrodes.

Check that power is reaching both outputs of the transformer; if only one side fails, it could be the wiring and not the transformer.

  • 02

The ignition is irregular across the burner, as if only part of it is lighting up.

Cause: If one of the two secondary windings of the transformer fails, only one electrode sparks and the ignition remains incomplete.

Check visually that both electrodes generate a spark at the same time before replacing the complete transformer.

  • 03

The boiler locks out as soon as you try to turn it on, with hardly any sparking noise.

Cause: No power in the primary or with the winding interrupted, the control unit does not detect flame and locks out for safety.

With a multimeter, confirm that 230V is reaching the primary of the transformer before declaring it faulty.

  • 04

The ignition fault appears mainly after a long period without using the boiler.

Cause: The accumulated moisture in the winding during shutdown can prevent the transformer from generating a spark correctly.

Let the boiler compartment dry for a few hours and try again before replacing the part, especially if it has been out of service for a long time or if there is moisture nearby.

Fault codes from Junkers that this part resolves.

CodeFaultDiagnosis and solution
F7The boiler does not detect the flame. The ionization signal is incorrect. This may be due to a fault in the ignition transformer, affecting flame detection. If the boiler shuts down after attempting to ignite, the transformer could be the cause.

These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.

  • The actual manufacturer of this part is ERA (Typ EI 66/30, BV 066-0213.0); Junkers/Bosch is the brand of the boiler, not the transformer.
  • The same service reference 8747201358 has also been supplied with HAHN transformers (V 17976 / 8747201379 and V 19800 / 8737703010), which are electrically identical; if your part is HAHN instead of ERA, it is still the correct variant.
