The Vaillant VMW 232-1 PCB (control board), reference S1047000, is a component that controls the ignition, burner modulation, pump, and safety features of the boiler. The boiler is completely off, not even the ignition light is on.
Cause: There is a fault in the power supply to the PCB.
Check if there is power to the PCB and verify that there are no blown fuses before replacing it.

The fault indicator is flashing and the boiler won't start.
Cause: The PCB has blocked the cycle due to a safety anomaly.
Count the blinks or check the fault code if there is one, and compare it with the fault table before replacing the PCB.

The flame ignites but goes out immediately for no apparent reason.
Cause: The PCB does not maintain the ionization signal properly or controls the gas valve poorly.
Check that the ignition and ionization cables are properly connected to the PCB before replacing it.

The temperature controls do nothing, the boiler does not respond to them.
Cause: The control section of the PCB does not process user commands.
If you can, try another thermostat to rule out that the fault comes from outside the PCB.
