Guide

How to check if it is the part for your boiler

The part reference, model, and equipment revision must be verified against the manufacturer's documentation.

  1. Look for the code marked TM-AB TC-AB TL-AB/77, the designation V084 B, and the code 735077 on your PCB.
  2. Also compare the marked 735324 /03 and G35, the fuse T1.25, and the Comelit transformer 733674. That's what ours has.
  3. To confirm: Do not consider 0020034604 or 130827 as equivalents; they are linked to 735077 and no breakdown we have been able to read confirms this.
  4. Neither 00712027 nor 0020184925 are tested like this PCB: the one that gives 00712027 does not mention 735077, and the one that gives 0020184925 describes it as V084_F, another designation.
  5. Check on the rating plate that your boiler is the Vaillant VMI ES 280/7 R3.
  6. if they match, call us at 911 17 77 77 with your boiler model and we will confirm availability.
Diagnosis and fault codes

Symptoms that require diagnosis in the Vaillant.

Common symptoms and faults

  • 01

The boiler intermittently locks out, does not respond to the controls, or does not ignite.

Cause: To confirm: from spare parts, these symptoms are among those corrected by replacing the PCB 735077. First, rule out the fuse.

  • 02

The PCB stops functioning after water enters the 230 V connector.

Cause: A user on an Italian forum reports that their PCB 735077 stopped working since water entered that connector. Check that it is dry.

  • 03

The boiler turns off during operation and does not ignite again.

Cause: Fault when reigniting after losing the flame: transformer or ignition cable, electrode, ground connection or the PCB.

Press Reset once (for about 1 second). If it turns off again after several attempts, have a technician check it.

  • 04

The boiler does not ignite: ignition attempts unsuccessful.

Cause: Insufficient gas or air in the pipe, electrode or ignition cable, electronic igniter or faulty electronic system.

Press Reset once. If it doesn't start, have a technician check it.

  • 05

The boiler does not ignite: it does not detect a flame during the ignition phase.

Cause: Low gas pressure, faulty electrode or ignition transformer, or air in the gas supply.

Press the fault reset button for more than 3 seconds (a maximum of 3 times, according to the manual). If it still does not turn on, have a technician check it.

Vaillant fault codes that require diagnosis

CodeFaultTechnical checks
F.20The safety limiter has been activated due to temperature: the supply or return sensor has exceeded the maximum.Check that there is water in the circuit and that the pump is circulating. If the flow sensor is poorly connected or faulty, have a technician check it.
F.29The flame goes out during operation and the restart attempts are unsuccessful.Press Reset once according to the manual. If the boiler shuts down again after three attempts, have a technician check it: it could be the ignition transformer, the ground, or the electronics.
F.27There is a flame signal with the burner off.A technician should check it: there may be a gas valve that is not closing or a faulty flame controller.
F.60Gas valve fault: valve cable short-circuited, or defective valve or main PCB.Have a technician check it. If the gas valve and its wiring are fine, it could be the PCB.
F.13Short circuit in the temperature sensor of the accumulator.Have a technician check it: it could be the accumulator sensor or its wiring. With a faulty sensor, the accumulator does not recharge in time.
F.61Fault in the activation of the gas valve or in its disconnection delay (the commercial guide groups F.61 and F.62).Have a technician check it: it could be the gas valve, its wiring, or the PCB.
F28Flame is not detected during ignition. The boiler goes into lockout.Check that gas is reaching and that the shut-off valve is open. If it happens again, have a technician check it: it points to the ignition electrodes and the PCB.
F62The flame goes out with a delay when closing the gas valve.Have a technician check it: it points to the gas valve, the PCB, or the electrode.
F.64Fault of the sensor or the electronics.Check the NTC sensors and their connections; if the fault code returns, have a technician review it.
F.65The temperature of the processor on the PCB is too high.Check the grounding; if it occurs again, have a technician inspect it.
F.00Return sensor (NTC) broken or with a damaged cable.Have a technician check it; first, verify the cable and the connection of the sensor.

These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions: Vaillant

How do I identify the Vaillant 735077 PCB and what do its codes mean?
Look for the code marked TM-AB TC-AB TL-AB/77, the designation V084 B, and the code 735077. Also compare 735324 /03 with the brand G35. 735077 is the Vaillant code for the PCB, TM-AB TC-AB TL-AB/77 is for the circuit, and 733674 is the Comelit transformer. The terminal block is marked 21V;230V and the fuse is T1.25.
Is it compatible with my Vaillant VMI ES 280/7 R3?
The compatibility of this variant is pending confirmation. To be confirmed: Yes. Registered: for the Vaillant VMI ES 280/7 R3. We have read with the code 735077 (and a forum) that they do not mention that boiler: the confirmation is from the workshop.
Is it compatible with a Thermocompact, a Turbomax Plus, or an Aqua Plus?
The compatibility of this variant is pending confirmation. It gives the 735077 for the Thermocompact 615E to 637E, the Turbomax Plus 824E, 828E, and 837E (models VU and VUW /2-5 R3, 2004-2008) and the Aqua Plus VUI 362-7 R3. It is a single one: to be confirmed. Please send us a photo of your part's label and the boiler's specification plate from Contact.
Are there other Vaillant PCB codes for the VMI 280-7 or the 32/362 that could be confused with this one?
Yes. The Spanish one gives 00712027 for the VMI 280-7, the VMI 320-7, and the VMW 282/2-5 R1, and another one gives 0020184925 (V084_F) for the VMI ES 32/362 7 R3. A third one assigns the "VAILLANT PCB" 118096 to the VMI 280-7 R3, the VMI 282-7 R3, and the VMI 32/362-7 R3 (2005). None of the three mentions 735077, and it has not been proven that they are the same PCB. For the VMI ES 280/7 R3, registered confirmation: 735077. Compare the designation (V084 B) and the marked code before ordering.
Is 735077 the same as 0020034604?
PCB 0020034604 was 130827 735077 and this is the only source we have read that links 735077 with 0020034604. Another list mentions 20034604 for the VMI 280-7 R3 (2005), but does not reference 735077, and a list from the control box of the VMI 280-7 refers to it as "Printed circuit support". Compare the part before confirming the equivalence as correct.
What should I check before replacing the PCB 735077?
British relates it to intermittent blockages, unresponsive controls, and lack of ignition. Check the fuse first (ours is T1.25) and the 230 V connector: a user from an Italian forum reports that their PCB stopped working after water entered it.
Who should install it?
A qualified technician. The PCB operates at 230 V in a gas boiler, and we have consulted that it requires installation by a registered technician (Gas Safe, in the UK). Verify the part number with the technical manual of the boiler before ordering it.
