The boiler is working, but the radiators are not heating or are only partially heating.
Cause: The pump rotor is stuck or spins loosely and does not move enough water through the circuit.
With the boiler cold, try to turn the rear shaft of the pump with a flat screwdriver through the slot of the rotor; if it is difficult to turn, it may simply be seized.

The pump makes a sound, buzzes, or vibrates when starting the heating.
Cause: The motor tries to start but the rotor does not spin freely, or there is air inside the pump body.
Bleed the air through the front screw of the pump before assuming that the motor is damaged.

The pump has been stopped since the summer and now it won't start.
Cause: After months of not working, the sediments or limescale are jamming the rotor.
Try to free the shaft manually with a screwdriver in the rear slot before replacing the entire pump.

Water or a damp ring appears under the pump.
Cause: The mechanical seal of the shaft has lost its tightness and is allowing water to pass through slowly.
Dry the area, start it up, and check if the leak is coming from the central shaft or from a nearby joint/connector, which can be fixed without replacing the pump.
