Guide

How to check if ref. 05123600 is the part for your boiler

What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.

  1. Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 05123600. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
  2. Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
  3. Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
  4. If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Diagnosis and fault codes

Symptoms and faults that the circulator pump 05123600 resolves.

The circulation pump circulates the water in the heating circuit. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

Common symptoms and faults

  • 01

The pump does not start when the heating command is given, or it struggles to turn.

Cause: The impeller can get stuck due to limescale if the pump has been idle for a long time, and the motor cannot overcome that resistance.

With the cold installation, try to free the shaft by turning it by hand through the front slot before replacing the pump.

  • 02

The heating system does not distribute heat properly: some radiators heat up while others remain cold.

Cause: If the flow rate driven by the pump is low, the hot water does not reach the entire circuit with sufficient pressure.

Check that the thermostatic valves and the valves of each radiator are open before suspecting the pump.

  • 03

The pump starts, runs for a while, and stops on its own without any apparent reason.

Cause: The motor thermal protection cuts off the power when it detects that the pump is forcing more than it should, for example, due to an impeller that is rotating with difficulty.

Disconnect the boiler for a few minutes and check if the pump resets itself upon restarting; if it triggers immediately, the problem persists.

  • 04

Water is seen dripping from the body or the shaft of the pump.

Cause: The shaft seal loses tightness with use and allows water to pass through even though the rest of the circuit is fine.

Check that the leak is actually coming from the pump shaft and not from a nearby fitting or bleed valve before replacing it.

Fault codes from Saunier Duval that this spare part resolves.

CodeFaultDiagnosis and solution
F.22Safety shutdown: lack of waterA blocked/defective circulator pump or one with insufficient performance reduces the flow rate, and the boiler interprets it as a lack of water; check by forcing the pump from service mode and verifying electrical supply and rotation/flow rate.
F.23Safety shutdown: excessive temperature variationIf the pump is blocked or underperforming, the ΔT flow/return increases and the block overheats differentially; check the actual rotation of the rotor, bleed air, and ensure the ΔT normalises after unblocking/replacing the pump.
F.24Safety shutdown: temperature rise too fastThe lack of circulation due to a blocked/faulty pump causes a sudden rise in temperature; verify by activating the pump in service test and confirming that there is flow and the temperature does not spike when the pump is restored.
F.75Fault: no pressure change detected when the pump startsAt the start, the electronics expect a pressure jump created by the pump; if it is faulty or not moving water, there is no variation and F.75 appears; check by forcing the pump and observing that the pressure does not change, and measuring the pump's power supply/consumption.
F.89Error: pumpThe boiler detects a pump fault (not connected, poorly connected, incorrect model, or short circuit); check continuity and wiring, pump reference/brand, and ensure it receives the correct signal/voltage.

These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
