Wall-mounted split air conditioning in Madrid: installation and repair

Installation and repair of 1×1 splits in Madrid and serviced localities. Sizing, access and line routing determine the scope and date of intervention.

The wall-mounted split connects an indoor wall unit with an outdoor unit via a copper refrigerant line (liquid + gas) and a multi-strand electrical cable. It is the most widespread solution because it combines low installation costs, good energy efficiency, and easy maintenance. Current inverter models —which modulate the compressor speed according to actual demand— consume between 30% and 40% less than fixed-speed on/off units, with much more stable temperatures and lower noise levels during continuous operation.

The proposal identifies equipment, power, lines, drainage, installation work and commissioning. Confirm applicable documentation and warranty conditions; any adaptation or additional material is not presumed included.

What our service includes

  • Technical visit and calculation of cooling capacity according to surface area, orientation, and thermal load
  • Installation of the indoor unit on the wall and the outdoor unit on the facade, terrace, or roof
  • Installation of refrigerant line with copper pipe and elastomeric insulation class O
  • Vacuuming the circuit with a vacuum pump to ≤500 microns before charging refrigerant
  • Charging R32 or R410A by weight with a certified scale (not by gauge pressure)
  • F-Gas Certificate and commissioning documentation
  • Repair of compressor, PCB, fan, temperature sensor, and gas leaks

Frequently Asked Questions

How many kW do I need for a 20 m² room?

Power is assessed based on area, insulation, orientation, and use. Necessary checks and their cost are specified before scheduling the visit.

When should gas be charged in a split unit?

A properly installed split system does not consume refrigerant; the gas does not "get used up." If the unit cools poorly or the technician detects low pressures, there is a leak in the circuit. Charging gas without locating and repairing the leak is a waste of money: within a few weeks, the unit will fail again. At Uniclima, we always locate the leak with an electronic detector before recharging, repair the leak point, and only then do we charge the R32 or R410A refrigerant by weight.

Can I reuse the refrigerant line if I change the unit?

It depends on the condition of the line and the refrigerant of the new unit. If the line is clean copper, without excessive bends or oxidation, and the new unit uses the same refrigerant as the previous one (e.g., both R32), it is possible to reuse it after evacuating and checking its tightness. If you are switching from R410A to R32 or the line is deteriorated, it is safest to replace it to ensure the efficiency and warranty of the new unit. We will assess it during a prior visit.
