The boiler provides domestic hot water but the radiators remain cold, or vice versa.
Cause: The motor does not complete the rotation of the gas valve and it ends up distributing the water to the wrong circuit.
Check if the valve completes its travel when requesting domestic hot water or heating; a partial travel points to the motor, not the valve.

It takes a long time to switch from heating to hot water when you open a tap.
Cause: The motor loses power or rotational speed and the switching is delayed.
Time how long it takes to switch services; a clear delay compared to the usual indicates the motor.

Buzzing or grinding noise right when switching from heating to domestic hot water.
Cause: The internal gear of the motor is rubbing or worn and is forcing without turning smoothly.
Listen to see if the noise occurs only when switching services; if it persists with the boiler at rest, check the boiler itself first.

The boiler remains fixed in a single mode, never alternating.
Cause: The motor has stopped receiving or responding to the signal from the control board and does not move the gas valve.
Check that power is reaching the motor when the control board requests the change, before replacing it.
