The flow meter detects the passage of water to activate the domestic hot water. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
The boiler ignites normally for heating but does not provide domestic hot water when the tap is opened.
Cause: Without a signal from the turbine, the PCB does not recognize that domestic hot water is being requested and does not activate that function.
Make sure the problem is only with the domestic hot water and not with the heating before looking at this part.
When I turn on the tap, nothing happens for a few seconds, as if the boiler doesn't notice.
Cause: The turbine takes longer to generate a reliable signal if it is dirty or partially blocked, delaying the demand notification to the PCB.
Time how long it takes to react and see if it improves by opening the tap fully before replacing the sensor.
An error code related to water flow appears on the screen.
Cause: The PCB constantly monitors the signal from this turbine; if it is erratic or absent, it registers it as a flow fault.
Check the mesh filter that is usually located just before the turbine, as it often gets clogged with lime or debris.
The domestic hot water comes and goes intermittently, without any apparent reason.
Cause: A turbine with a partially jammed impeller generates irregular pulses that the PCB interprets as flow interruptions.
Check if the fluctuations coincide with drops in the main network pressure before replacing the part.
