The VMW 36CS increases the maximum heating output to 29.8 kW at 80/60 °C and 32.3 kW at 50/30 °C. Its minimum output of 3.9 kW at 80/60 °C is also higher than that of the 26 and 32 models. Therefore, having more available power does not necessarily mean it is the best choice for a small home or one with low thermal demand.

In domestic hot water, it declares 35.6 kW, with 17.0 l/min specific at ΔT 30 K and 20.4 l/min at ΔT 25 K. The limiter is 11.7 l/min. The commercial reference for three bathrooms and kitchen serves to guide the selection, but it does not guarantee three bathrooms in use or two showers at any temperature and pressure.

It maintains the wall-mounted body of 720 x 440 x 348 mm from the lower versions. It incorporates micro-accumulation, which should not be counted as a large volume reserve. If the priority is to support several prolonged simultaneous demands, it is advisable to calculate them and compare a storage solution designed for that use, in addition to reserving access for maintenance.

Does the ecoTEC plus VMW 36CS work for a house of 200 m²?

It can be assessed if the calculated load fits within its range of 3.9-29.8 kW at 80/60 °C. For example, 200 m² with assumed losses of 80 W/m² would require 16 kW; this is an illustrative calculation, not a surface approved by Vaillant. The minimum of 3.9 kW is also important: if the dwelling requires less, the unit may operate in cycles. Insulation, climate, ventilation, and emitters must be considered in the calculation before choosing this power.

Does the VMW 36CS allow for two simultaneous showers?

It cannot be guaranteed solely by its power. Two showers at 8 l/min would consume 16 l/min; with an inlet temperature of 10 °C and usage at 40 °C, they require a temperature rise of 30 K. The declared specific flow rate is 17.0 l/min at ΔT 30 K. It barely exceeds that example, but it is not a guarantee of delivery at the taps. Furthermore, the manual indicates a limiter of 11.7 l/min for domestic hot water: specific flow rate, hot water output, and mixed flow rate of the shower are not the same. Pressure and flow rate of the network, inlet temperature, and consumption of the showers must be measured. The limiter should not be removed or modified to achieve the advertised performance.

Does the ecoTEC plus VMW 36CS have a storage tank for showers?

It is a mixed model with micro-accumulation, not the VMI variant with accumulation. Micro-accumulation improves the initial response, but it does not provide a reserve of tens of liters to maintain multiple demands. For the VMW 36CS, its domestic hot water capacity of 35.6 kW and the flow rate under usage conditions should be evaluated. If you need a hot water reserve, a compatible storage unit or system must be explicitly selected; it should not be assumed in this boiler.

What cabinet does the Vaillant VMW 36CS need?

The body measures 720 mm in height, 440 mm in width, and 348 mm in depth. The manual also requires 5 mm on each side, 180 mm below, and 500 mm of front access. Above, it needs 165 or 248 mm with a 60/100 outlet according to the plan, 220 mm with an 80/80, or 276 mm with an 80/125. These are not the measurements of a closed cabinet fitted to the unit: access, connections, and the authorized discharge for installation must be maintained.

What differentiates the VMW 36CS from the other ecoTEC plus 26, 32, and 36?

The three have dimensions of 720 x 440 x 348 mm. The 26 offers a maximum heating output of 19.8 kW at 80/60 °C and a specific flow rate of 12.3 l/min at ΔT 30 K; the 32 provides 24.8 kW and 15.2 l/min; the 36 offers 29.8 kW and 17.0 l/min. The VMW 36CS has the highest domestic hot water capacity, but also the highest minimum heating output of 3.9 kW. Choose based on thermal demand and domestic hot water consumption, without assuming that all include the same accessories.

Do the 20.4 l/min and 17.0 l/min of the VMW 36CS contradict each other?

No: 20.4 l/min is the published flow rate with ΔT 25 K and 17.0 l/min is the specific D from the manual with ΔT 30 K according to EN 13203-1. For example, changing water from 15 °C to water at 40 °C requires 25 K, while from 10 °C to 40 °C requires 30 K. The more each liter needs to be heated, the lower the available thermal flow rate. None of these values should be confused with the limiter of 11.7 l/min or used without checking the actual temperature.
