Vaillant Extractor Dampers
The extractor dampers from Vaillant are essential components in aroTHERM boilers, such as the Split and pro models. Their function is to expel combustion gases and create the necessary draft for the boiler to start correctly. If this part fails, you will notice that the boiler does not ignite or gets locked due to issues with smoke evacuation. They are installed in several boilers from the aroTHERM range, among others. It is advisable to replace them when these symptoms occur.

Can't see your model or have questions? The printed reference takes precedence. How to check it · Send us a photo via WhatsApp.
How to check if it is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference —. If it is not visible, do not identify the part by its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the extractor resolves
The extractor evacuates the combustion gases with forced draft. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The outdoor unit of the aroTHERM vibrates or makes more noise than usual.
Cause: The rubber of the dampers has hardened or cracked and no longer absorbs the vibration of the extractor.
Check the condition of the rubber: if it is cracked, flattened, or broken, confirm the wear before purchasing the part.
- 02
Vibrations from the extractor are transmitted to the structure or the support.
Cause: The silentblocks have lost elasticity and the extractor is almost rigidly in contact with the chassis.
Touch the chassis of the unit while it is operating: if you feel the vibration directly on the casing without any damping, they are no longer serving their purpose.
- 03
The noise from the outdoor unit clearly increases the faster the fan spins.
Cause: As the rubber degrades, the extractor loses its flexible support and vibrates more the higher the speed.
Compare the noise at low speed and high speed (for example, during defrosting); if the increase is disproportionate, check the dampers before other parts.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
