The burner performs the combustion of gas. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

Common symptoms and faults

  • 01

    The boiler tries to ignite several times, there are clicks, but it does not start.

    Cause: The spark train does not produce a strong or consistent enough arc to ignite the gas.

    Listen for a clear spark sound when trying to ignite; if the clicking is weak or intermittent, suspect the spark train.

    The boiler shows a fault of flame failure or ignition when trying to start.

    Cause: Without spark or with weak spark, the gas does not ignite and the flame detector does not receive a signal.

    Check that the electrode is clean, free of rust and deposits, before replacing the entire assembly.

    There is no clicking or spark when the boiler tries to start.

    Cause: The spark generator has stopped producing an arc, usually due to electrode wear or an internal fault in the ignition transformer.

    Check the electrical connection of the spark train and ensure that the high voltage cable is properly fitted before replacing it.

  • 04

    The boiler locks out after several failed ignition attempts.

    Cause: The control unit counts the attempts without detecting a flame and locks for safety when the spark train does not ignite the gas.

    Check the distance and position of the electrode relative to the burner before declaring the spark train faulty.
