Common symptoms and faults

• 01

  The boiler does not start even though the thermostat is calling for heat.

  Cause: One of the OMRON G5NB-1A relays on the PCB is not switching and is not sending the command to the component it should activate.

  Check if you can hear the click of the relay when calling for heat; if neither of the two sounds, it points more towards the PCB.

• 02

  A specific component fails to start (pump, fan, or valve) while the rest operates normally.

  Cause: Each relay on the PCB controls a different component; if only one fails, the rest continue to operate.

  Identify which exact component is not starting; if it's just one, check that component and its wiring first, not just the PCB.

• 03

  The boiler shows an error or stops after running for a while.

  Cause: The PCB is designed to operate up to 130°C; excessive heat in the junction box can cause it to fail repeatedly.

  Check that the boiler casing ventilation is not obstructed and that the cooling fan, if it has one, is working.

• 04

  The boiler resets itself or gives strange faults when there are other electrical appliances nearby.

  Cause: The SCHAFFNER EMI filter on the PCB protects against interference; if it is damaged, external electrical noise can seep in and cause resets.

  Try unplugging other devices on the same electrical line and check if the fault disappears before considering the PCB as faulty.
