The pressure gauge shows the pressure of the boiler circuit. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
The pressure gauge reads zero or the needle doesn't move, even though you know the system is pressurized.
Cause: The internal mechanism of the pressure gauge has seized or lost connection with the circuit and no longer reflects the actual pressure.
Bleed a radiator and refill using the filling key; if the needle doesn't react at any point, the pressure gauge is the one that's faulty.
The needle stays outside the green range and doesn't return no matter how much you refill the circuit.
Cause: A misalignment of the internal mechanism causes the needle to display incorrectly even though the actual pressure is within range.
If you have another pressure gauge or one from a similar boiler on hand, compare readings before discarding the part you have installed.
The glass or the sphere is broken and the color scale cannot be read.
Cause: A blow or the aging of the plastic has damaged the casing without affecting the rest of the circuit.
Check at the same time that the connection fitting is not leaking; if only the reading fails, the change is only for the pressure gauge.
