The Pro 286 provides heating and hot water with different performance for each service. With natural gas G20, it delivers from 6.2 to 24.0 kW at 80/60 °C and from 7.0 to 25.9 kW at 50/30 °C. The minimum operating power is as important as the maximum when there are few rooms open or the home loses little heat; increasing power does not guarantee better adaptation to those situations.

In domestic hot water, it reaches 28.0 kW and a flow rate of 13.4 l/min at ΔT 30 K. The water can be adjusted between 35 and 65 °C, with a minimum flow rate of 1.5 l/min and a required connection pressure of 0.350 bar. These values do not mean that the maximum domestic hot water output can be maintained at any pressure: the consumption points must be sized according to the actual supply and the inlet temperature.

The pre-preparation of hot water is disconnectable. The 10-liter expansion vessel belongs to the heating system and should not be added as a storage unit for showers. The pump has a circulation flow rate of 1,032 l/h at ΔT 20 K and a available pressure of 0.250 bar under that condition. Adjusting the circuit to its emitters is part of the installation work, not an automatic compatibility with any home.

Its 338 mm depth helps to study a compact location, but clearances and maintenance access must be reserved. The approximate net weight is 36 kg, so the support must be adequate. The maximum electrical consumption is 85 W, different from its 28 kW thermal output for domestic hot water. The gas variant, regulation accessories, and the flue system are checked separately, without assuming the inclusion of the contents of another commercial set.

Does the ecoTEC Pro 286 work for a house of 150 m²?

As an example, 150 m² with assumed losses of 80 W/m² require 12 kW, within the 6.2-24.0 kW range it delivers with natural gas at 80/60 °C. That area is not a certified capacity. If only one zone that demands 4 kW is heated, it falls below the minimum and may alternate between on and off cycles. The actual load needs to be calculated, and emitters, insulation, climate, and rooms in use should be reviewed; the 28 kW for domestic hot water is not its maximum heating capacity.

Can it maintain two showers of 8 l/min with an inlet water temperature of 10 °C?

To use water at 40 °C from an inlet at 10 °C, the temperature difference is 30 K. Two showers of 8 l/min add up to 16 l/min, which is above their 13.4 l/min at that temperature difference. One shower of 8 l/min does fall below the declared thermal capacity, but it requires sufficient flow and network pressure. If that usual simultaneous use is required, more domestic hot water production or accumulation should be considered; opening two taps does not increase the available power.

Do the 10 liters of the Pro 286 allow for stored water for another shower?

No: those 10 liters correspond to the heating expansion vessel, not to a domestic hot water reserve. The boiler produces domestic hot water within the unit itself and allows for the disconnection of its prior preparation. This function should not be interpreted as a 10-liter tank for consecutive or simultaneous baths. During prolonged demand, its 28 kW for domestic hot water, the inlet water temperature, and the available flow rate are taken into account.

What space does the ecoTEC Pro 286 need inside a cabinet?

The body measures 720 x 440 x 338 mm and its approximate net weight is 36 kg. It requires 5 mm on each side, preferably 50 mm, and 180 mm below, preferably 250 mm. Above, it is 165 mm with a 60/100 duct or 275 mm with an 80/125. There must be 500 mm of front access for maintenance, which can be obtained by opening a door. Support, connections, and discharge are verified separately: having a space of 338 mm in depth is not enough to confirm the installation.

Does it have the same minimum power with natural gas as with propane?

No. At 80/60 °C, the Pro 286 declares 6.2-24.0 kW with natural gas G20 and 8.2-24.0 kW with propane G31. The maximum is the same, but the minimum increases with propane, which is relevant if the house requires little heat. At 50/30 °C, the ranges are 7.0-25.9 and 8.9-25.3 kW respectively. The type of gas, configuration, and any adaptations must be verified by a qualified professional; it is not guaranteed that the offered unit is prepared to switch gas without intervention.

Are the 28 kW of the Pro 286 electrical consumption?

No: they are maximum thermal power for producing hot water. The indicated electrical consumption is 35 W as minimum operating power, 85 W as maximum, and less than 2 W in standby. Maintaining only that standby state for 24 hours would mean less than 0.048 kWh; it does not represent a day with heating or domestic hot water active. Its power supply is 230 V and 50 Hz. This distinction prevents confusing a gas boiler with an electric water heater of 28 kW.
