How to check if ref. MU0700038 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Locate the reference printed on the body of the 3-way valve you have installed: it should indicate MU0700038.
- Check your boiler model on the nameplate and look for it in the list of compatible models on this page.
- Compare the connections and the body with the original part before installing.
- If you have any doubts, send us a photo of the screen printing via WhatsApp and we'll confirm it for you before you purchase.
Symptoms and faults resolved by 3-way valve MU0700038
The 3-way valve diverts water between heating and domestic hot water. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
The domestic hot water does not reach the desired temperature or comes out cold, even though the boiler ignites without any problem.
Cause: The valve shutter does not reach the domestic hot water position, and the water continues circulating towards heating.
Close the radiator valves and check if the water comes out hot; if so, the suspicion falls on this valve.
The radiators are not heating even though the boiler is on and providing hot water at the tap.
Cause: The valve is stuck in the domestic hot water position and does not allow flow to the heating circuit.
With the boiler in heating mode, touch the flow pipe to the radiators to check if there is flow circulating.
A motor is heard straining in the area of the valve when switching modes.
Cause: The internal mechanism is seized, usually due to lime scale or lack of use after being idle for a season.
Check if the noise always occurs at the same point in the cycle (start of domestic hot water or heating) before replacing the part.
There is moisture at the base of the boiler, near where this valve is mounted.
Cause: The plastic body and brass fittings of this valve lose their seal over the years.
Dry the area and check after a complete cycle of domestic hot water and another of heating to identify when the dripping occurs.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
