  Dry the area well and check if the dripping comes directly from the body of the valve or from a nearby joint before replacing it.

  Cause: The plastic and the internal mechanism seize up after a long time without being handled, which is typical in keys that are rarely used.

  Try to move it carefully in both directions without forcing it; if it doesn't give, don't keep tightening to avoid breaking the plastic casing.

  It needs to be replaced because the lever or the control has broken.

  Cause: The plastic of the lever is the weakest part of the key and gives way with repeated use or excessive tightening.

  Check if the body of the valve is still intact under the broken lever; sometimes the issue is just the control.
