  Water is leaking from the valve while the circuit is being refilled.

  Cause: The internal seal of the mechanism has lost its tightness, something common in plastic valves over the years.

  Close it properly after filling and check if the dripping occurs only during filling or also with the valve closed.

  The boiler loses pressure and needs to be refilled frequently.

  Cause: The valve only operates during filling, so a repeated loss usually comes from a leak in the circuit or the expansion vessel.

  Record the pressure after refilling and check if it drops within a few days without anyone operating the valve.

  It's hard to turn: it's seized up or doesn't close completely.

  Cause: The lime scale deposited in the internal plastic mechanism blocks the movement, especially if the valve goes unused for a long time.

  Try to move it gently in both directions; if it's very stiff, don't force it because the internal mechanism could break.

• 04

  It doesn't close properly after filling and water keeps entering.

  Cause: The closing seat does not fit completely, due to wear of the mechanism or lime trapped inside.

  Turn it to the fully closed position and check if the water flow stops before considering the part as faulty.
