When I open the hot water tap, nothing happens; the boiler does not ignite the burner.

Cause: The flow switch is not closing the electrical circuit that signals the control unit that there is a demand for domestic hot water.

Before replacing it, check the 2-pin connector of the detector: make sure it is properly seated and free of corrosion on the terminals.

The water comes out hot for a few seconds and then suddenly turns cold, even though the tap remains open.

Cause: The detector loses the flow signal while running, usually due to internal dirt, and the boiler turns off the burner as if you had closed the tap.

Check that there are no debris or lime circulating in the cold water circuit that could hinder the detector mechanism.

The hot water comes out intermittently, as if someone were turning the tap on and off repeatedly.

Cause: The flow reaching the detector varies, and it sends start and stop signals consecutively to the burner.

Check the water pressure in the house at that moment: low or unstable pressure gives the same symptom without the detector being faulty.
