The VMW 23CS is particularly interesting when the demand for heating and domestic hot water does not grow at the same rate. Its range of 3.0 to 19.8 kW at 80/60 °C is the same as that of the VMW 26CS; the difference lies in the DHW, where it delivers 23 kW instead of 25.7 kW. Upgrading to the 26 does not solely increase the heating power available for the home.

For a full bathroom and kitchen, its micro-accumulation improves the initial response of hot water without turning it into a large-capacity storage boiler. The technical sheet states 13.2 l/min at ΔT 25 K and the manual specifies 11.0 l/min at ΔT 30 K. These are different heating conditions: in winter, a colder water inlet leaves less margin to open several outlets at the same time.

The sanitary limiter of 8.7 l/min must be distinguished from the specific test flow rate and the mixed water that comes out of a shower. The selection requires assessing the inlet temperature, pressure, and consumption of the taps. The maximum declared electrical consumption also varies depending on the service: 87 W in heating and 95 W in domestic hot water; these are not the thermal power or gas consumption.

sensoHOME allows you to control the heating from the environment, and the range offers wired or radio versions. Radio does not equate to Internet control: myVAILLANT connectivity is presented as an additional option. To use a mobile application, you need to have the compatible module and configure it. The controls and accessories of the system must be distinguished from the installation work and the adaptation of the flue to the home.

Is the Vaillant ecoTEC plus VMW 23CS suitable for a 100 m² apartment?

It can fit if the calculated thermal load of the house is within its range of 3.0 to 19.8 kW at 80/60 °C. For example, 100 m² with assumed losses of 80 W/m² would require 8 kW; this is not a surface approved by Vaillant. It is also important that the minimum of 3.0 kW is suitable for mild days and rooms with low demand. Insulation, climate, ventilation, and emitters must be included in the calculation. The sanitary choice is evaluated separately: Vaillant directs the 23CS towards a full bathroom and kitchen, without promising simultaneous uses.

Can the ecoTEC plus 23CS supply two showers at the same time?

It should not be chosen assuming that usage. Two showers at 8 l/min require 16 l/min; with an inlet water temperature of 10 °C and usage at 40 °C, they demand a temperature rise of 30 K. The 23CS states 11.0 l/min specific at ΔT 30 K, which is below that example. The manual also indicates a limiter of 8.7 l/min: this is not the same data as the specific flow rate or the mixed flow rate of the shower. It is necessary to check the network pressure, temperature, and actual consumption; the limiter should not be removed or modified in an attempt to reach an advertised flow rate.

Does it have a tank or just micro-accumulation?

The VMW 23CS is a mixed model with micro-accumulation, not a VMI with accumulation. This function helps with the initial response, but it does not provide a reserve of several tens of liters for multiple bathrooms. During prolonged consumption, its 23 kW of domestic hot water and the flow rate available under real conditions are important. If you need a hot water reserve, you must select an expressly compatible accumulation solution; do not assume it in this VMW.

Does the VMW 23CS fit in a kitchen cabinet?

The body measures 720 mm in height, 440 mm in width, and 348 mm in depth. Additionally, the manual requires 5 mm on each side, 180 mm below, and 500 mm of front access. Above, it requires 165 or 248 mm with a 60/100 outlet according to the plan, 220 mm with an 80/80, or 276 mm with an 80/125. It is not enough for the door to close: maintenance access and space for connections and drainage must be maintained. The professional must check the specific installation.

What do I gain by switching from ecoTEC plus 23CS to 26CS?

Both have the same heating range with natural gas G20: 3.0-19.8 kW at 80/60 °C and 3.4-21.7 kW at 50/30 °C. They also share the same dimensions. The 26 increases domestic hot water from 23.0 to 25.7 kW and the specific flow rate at ΔT 30 K from 11.0 to 12.3 l/min. Both have a limiter of 8.7 l/min. The change provides sanitary capacity for testing, not more maximum heating power or an automatic guarantee of two simultaneous showers.

Does SensoHOME Radio allow you to control this boiler from your mobile?

Radio identifies the wireless communication option of the ambient control; it does not by itself mean that the system has Internet access. The technical sheet distinguishes sensoHOME, available wired or via radio, from the optional myVAILLANT Plug & Play connectivity. For mobile control, the compatible module, its configuration, and the specific supply components must be checked. Wi-Fi or an additional module is not assumed to be included just because of the word Radio.
