The ecoTEC pure VMW 286/7-2 H-ES increases heating up to 24.0 kW at 80/60 °C and domestic hot water production up to 28 kW. Its specific flow rate is 13.5 l/min at ΔT 30 K. It maintains the 338 mm depth of the 236, with greater domestic capacity and a minimum heating output of 7.5 kW, which is worth considering for low demands. Equipment without installation; please confirm the accessories for this configuration. VAT and mainland shipping included.

The Pure 286 offers more capacity than the 236 without increasing the size of the body. Its range is from 7.5 to 24.0 kW in heating at 80/60 °C and from 8.3 to 26.1 kW at 50/30 °C. The nominal flow rate of the circuit at ΔT 20 K is 1,033 l/h. The choice must cover the winter load and adapt to the periods when the home requires less heat.

In domestic hot water, it has 28.0 kW. The 16.2 l/min advertised at ΔT 25 K does not equate to maintaining that flow rate with colder inlet water: at 30 K the specific value drops to 13.5 l/min and at 35 K to 11.6 l/min. For multiple consumption points, the flow rates must be added and compared to the expected usage temperature.

The domestic hot water preheating function can be deactivated. It is not a reserve of water for simultaneous consumption; the 8-liter expansion vessel corresponds to heating. The cold water inlet limiter is 14 l/min and should not be confused with test flow rates or the mixed volume that comes out of a shower.

The dimensions of 720 x 440 x 338 mm and 30.8 kg match the 236, but do not guarantee a direct replacement without reviewing the installation. Its declared indoor sound power is 52 dB(A), compared to 49 dB(A) in the 236. The maximum electrical power is 110 W and the standby consumption is 1.8 W; these are not the gas consumption or a permanent electrical demand.

What to check before installing this boiler

The choice of equipment does not replace the inspection of the installation by a qualified professional.

  1. Confirm the model and commercial reference, the type of gas, and the supply configuration in the manufacturer's documentation.
  2. Ask a qualified installer to assess the heating and domestic hot water demand; compare measured flow rates at the same temperature difference.
  3. Check dimensions, connections, flue gas evacuation, condensate drainage, and controls compatible with the existing installation.
  4. Confirm the included accessories and the delivery time before scheduling the installation. The online purchase of the equipment does not include installation or commissioning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions: condensing boilers

Is the ecoTEC Pure 286 suitable for a 150 m² house?
In an example with assumed losses of 80 W/m², 150 m² require 12 kW, within their 7.5-24.0 kW at 80/60 °C. This does not convert 150 m² into a surface guaranteed by the manufacturer. Climate, insulation, ventilation, and emitters must be calculated, and their minimum of 7.5 kW should be assessed with few rooms in use. The 28 kW corresponds to domestic hot water, not to the maximum heating at 80/60 °C.
Do the 16.2 l/min advertised allow for two simultaneous showers with the Pure 286?
That figure corresponds to ΔT 25 K. If the water enters at 10 °C and is used at 40 °C, the temperature difference increases to 30 K and the specific flow rate is 13.5 l/min, lower than the 16 l/min required for two showers of 8 l/min each. With an even colder inlet and a temperature difference of 35 K, it declares 11.6 l/min. Additionally, there is a limiter of 14 l/min. It is necessary to check temperature, pressure, and mixing, without promising two showers based on an isolated figure.
Does the Pure 286 store water in a tank to supply a second bathroom?
The technical sheet describes the preheating of domestic hot water, which can be deactivated, not a sanitary reserve tank for two bathrooms. The 8 liters stated belong to the expansion vessel of the heating circuit. The water available during long consumption depends on the 28 kW of production, the network flow rate, and the inlet temperature; those 8 liters should not be added as accumulated hot water.
Can I install a Pure 286 in the space of a Pure 236?
Both have a body of 720 x 440 x 338 mm and weigh 30.8 kg, but support, gas, drainage, connections, and exhaust must be checked. The minimums are 5 mm on the sides, 180 mm below, and 500 mm for front access. Above, it is 165 mm with 60/100, 275 mm with 80/125, or 300 mm with 80/80. Matching dimensions does not certify the reuse of all accessories or allow installation without checking the entire system.
Does the Pure 286 make the same noise as the 236?
They do not have the same declared value: the indoor acoustic power LWA is 52 dB(A) for the 286 and 49 dB(A) for the 236. It is acoustic power, not the level that you will necessarily hear from the bedroom. Distance, walls, support, pipes, and operating mode influence the perceived sound. The comparison helps to choose the location, but it does not replace an acoustic assessment of the installation.
How much electricity does the Pure 286 need when it is in standby?
The manual indicates 1.8 W in standby and 110 W of maximum electrical consumption. Hypothetically maintaining 1.8 W for 24 hours equals 0.0432 kWh; it does not describe a day with heating, hot water, or active preheating. The 28 kW of domestic hot water is thermal power, not electrical consumption. The Pure 236 states 1.6 W in standby and 100 W maximum, so those values should not be assigned to the 286 either.
Does the price include installation and shipping?
Includes VAT and shipping to mainland Spain. Installation and adaptations are valued separately. Check the contents of the supply before purchasing.
