  The hot water comes out lukewarm or loses pressure within a few seconds, even when the tap is fully open.

  Cause: Limescale builds up between the plates of the heat exchanger and blocks the flow of water, preventing the boiler from transferring all the heat.

  Measure the hardness of the water in your area and check if the boiler has not been descaled for a long time; a descaling can improve performance without the need to replace the part.

  There is a drip or a puddle of water right under the boiler, without a clear indication of where it is coming from.

  Cause: When the heat exchanger loses tightness between plates, water escapes through the joint or through a microcrack in the body.

  Dry the area well, turn on the boiler, and use a flashlight to check if the dripping comes from the body of the heat exchanger or from a nearby fitting or bleed valve.

  The heating circuit needs to be filled every few days, and the pressure gauge rises just when you request hot water.

  Cause: An internal crack in the heat exchanger allows water from one circuit to pass to the other, mixing domestic hot water and heating.

  Note if the pressure rises when opening a hot water tap; if this occurs repeatedly, it is a clear indication of mixing between circuits.

  The hot water takes longer than usual to come out, or it comes out in intervals, as if it cuts off and then comes back.

  Cause: A partially clogged heat exchanger allows water to flow irregularly instead of at a constant rate.

  Check if the cold water inlet filter is dirty or calcified, because sometimes the problem lies there and not in the heat exchanger.
