  Check that the sensor is fully inserted into the sleeve and properly seated, without any play, before declaring the part faulty.

  The glass of the dial is broken and doesn't allow the scale to be read.

  Cause: It is a mechanical break of the front glass, not a fault of the measuring mechanism.

  Check if the needle moves when touched despite the broken glass; if it moves, the problem is only with the reading, not with the mechanism.
