Cointra Edyco ED-21I / ED-21EI TYPE ECOINF00 PCB (control board)
The PCB Cointra Edyco ED-21I / ED-21EI TYPE ECOINF00 is the component that controls the ignition, the modulation of the burner, the pump, and the safety features of the boiler. When this part fails, the boiler may not start, become locked, or operate erratically, which can manifest with fault codes such as E00, E70, E71, or E72. This model is compatible with Cointra Edyco ED 21 boilers, including the Edyco ED 21 EI and Edyco ED 21 I models, among others. It is recommended to replace the PCB when faults in its operation occur.

How to check if ref. 9158473 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 9158473. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the PCB 9158473 resolves.
The PCB controls the ignition, modulation, and safety features of the boiler. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The boiler does not ignite and does not respond to the controls.
Cause: The PCB receives all the ignition commands; if it fails, neither the start nor the response to the controls occurs.
Before replacing the PCB, check the electrical supply and ensure that the room thermostat is properly closing the contact (you can bridge it to test).
- 02
The rest of the components of the ED-21 have been checked and none explain the fault: it seems to be an issue with the electronics.
Cause: If the pressure switch, gas valve, and sensors are ruled out, and the fault persists, the problem lies in the control circuit.
Before considering the PCB good, confirm that it has been tested with another room thermostat: a faulty one can simulate a PCB fault.
- 03
A click is heard from the relay, but the boiler does not start.
Cause: The relay on this PCB gives the final command to the gas valve or the fan; if it switches but the circuit does not respond, a click is heard with no effect.
Check that the gas valve and the fan are receiving power when that click sounds; if there is no power, the problem is with the PCB.
- 04
The boiler works for a few minutes and then locks out without a clear pattern.
Cause: An intermittent fault on the PCB may be due to an internal component failing when hot or a weak solder joint that opens with vibration.
Before replacing, check the wiring and connectors of the PCB, and note if the lock always coincides with the same mode (heating or domestic hot water).
Fault codes for Cointra that this part resolves.
| Code | Fault | Diagnosis and solution |
|---|---|---|
| E00 | No communication with the display | The boiler cannot communicate with the control panel. This may be due to a fault in the PCB. Check the connections of the board and its condition. |
| E70 | Cascade alarm (without communication with SLAVEs) | A cascade alarm has been triggered, indicating that the MASTER cannot communicate with one of the SLAVES. This may be caused by a fault in the PCB. Check the communication between units and the status of the board. |
| E71 | Cascade alarm (alarm on one of the SLAVES) | A cascade alarm has been triggered, indicating that there is an alarm in one of the SLAVEs. This may be due to an issue with the PCB. Check the status of the SLAVEs and the board. |
| E72 | Cascade alarm (no communication with MASTER) | A cascade alarm has been triggered, indicating that a SLAVE cannot communicate with the MASTER. This may be caused by a fault in the PCB. Check the communication between units and the status of the PCB. |
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
