Cointra Optimax OM 21 EI Air Pressure Switch Ref. 9160130
Cointra Optimax presents the Optimax OM 21 EI air pressure switch, which is responsible for monitoring the air pressure and authorizing the operation of the boiler. When this part fails, the boiler does not start or gets locked, even if the actual pressure is correct. This pressure switch is compatible with the Cointra Optimax OM 21 EI boiler, among others. It should be replaced when you notice that the boiler does not start correctly or experiences lockouts due to pressure issues.

How to check if ref. 9160130 is the part for your boiler
What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.
- Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference 9160130. If it is not visible, do not identify the part from its shape alone.
- Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
- Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.
- If anything is unclear, send us a photo of the marking via WhatsApp before placing your order.
Symptoms and faults that the pressure switch 9160130 resolves.
The pressure switch controls the air or water pressure to authorize operation. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:
Common symptoms and faults
- 01
The boiler does not ignite and shows an air pressure fault when trying to start.
Cause: The pressure switch does not detect the minimum pressure of the fan and does not allow ignition.
Check that the fan rotates freely and reaches the appropriate speed before ignition, without any noise or blockages.
- 02
The fan starts, but the burner never ignites.
Cause: The internal contact of the pressure switch does not activate even though the air pressure is correct, due to wear or dirt.
Measure with a multimeter if the pressure switch closes the contact when the fan is functioning correctly.
- 03
The boiler starts intermittently: sometimes it ignites and other times it turns off by itself.
Cause: An irregular switching of the pressure switch causes the control unit to receive unstable pressure signals.
Check that the silicone tubes connecting the pressure switch to the fan are not loose, cracked, or blocked.
- 04
The blockage occurs right at startup, before the flame appears.
Cause: The pressure switch stops the ignition in the first second if it does not detect sufficient air pressure, for safety reasons.
Check that the flue outlet and the external air intake are not obstructed by dirt, nests, or ice.
These symptoms can have more than one cause. If your boiler displays a fault code, send it to us via WhatsApp along with a photo of the labeling, and we'll tell you if this is the part.
