The pump does not start when the boiler calls for heating.
Cause: The start capacitor or the motor winding has failed and the rotor does not receive the impulse to turn.
Try turning the shaft with a flat screwdriver in the front slot of the motor; if it is stuck, try to free it before replacing the pump.

There is noticeable vibration or rough noise while it is operating.
Cause: The rotor bearings are worn out or there is limescale embedded in the impeller that is causing it to be unbalanced.
Check if the circuit pressure is correct and bleed the air before declaring the pump faulty.

Water is leaking from the area of the shaft, between the motor and the body of the pump.
Cause: The mechanical seal that separates the wet part from the electrical part has worn out and no longer seals.
Don't confuse it with condensation: dry the area, let the boiler run for a while, and check if water reappears right at the axis.

The radiators take a long time to heat up or remain lukewarm.
Cause: The pump is running but does not reach the necessary discharge pressure, due to wear on the impeller or air in the circuit.
Bleed the radiators and the pump's own bleeder before declaring the part as exhausted.
