How to check if it is the part for your boiler

What determines it is not the boiler model, but the reference printed on the part you already have installed.

1. Find the reference printed on the installed part and check whether it matches the catalogue reference —. If it is not visible, do not identify the part by its shape alone.
2. Check the full boiler model on its data plate and look for it in the model associations on this page.
3. Compare the connections and physical body with the original part before installation.

Symptoms and faults that the safety valve resolves

The safety valve releases pressure when the circuit exceeds its setting. These are the typical symptoms and what to do:

  The valve is leaking continuously even when the boiler is turned off.

  Cause: The seat does not seal properly, usually due to limescale or a small trapped particle.

  Pull the bleed lever a couple of times to try to clean the seat before replacing it.

• 02

  It occasionally releases water for no clear reason.

  Cause: It is possible that the gas valve is correctly releasing occasional pressure spikes when heating the circuit.

  Note the cold and hot pressure during a couple of cycles to check if it approaches 3 bar before suspecting the gas valve.

• 03

  It is suspected that the circuit is overpressurized because the valve discharges more often than usual.

  Cause: An expansion vessel without air pressure causes the circuit to rise suddenly, and the valve has to work harder.

  Check the air pressure of the expansion vessel with the boiler empty before considering the valve as faulty.

• 04

  The dripping appears right after refilling the water circuit.

  Cause: If it is filled above the normal pressure, the valve opens to return the circuit to a safe level.

  Check the pressure indicated by the pressure gauge after filling; if it exceeds 1.5-2 bar when cold, lower the pressure before checking the valve.
